Does anyone think studying would help?
Absolutely.
There are areas that come up over and over again where just a cursory brush up would help exponentially. Some obvious examples of this are Shakespeare plays and European monarchies, particularly the British throne.
I know virtually nothing about either of those categories but if were ever going on Jeopardy I'd read up on them with the goal of attaining as much broad sweeping knowledge as I could with very little depth.
There are a ton of areas where studying even briefly would likely help tremendously: Artists/Art History, Classic Literature, Geography, History (focus on American and European), Science in general (focus on major breakthroughs, famous scientists, basic chemistry, astronomy, anatomy, medicine, etc), Popes, State Capitals, Opera, the list goes on and on...
How could studying possibly
not be affective?
