Me, too. Heck I'm on my second wife!

Given the wagering lately, I at least didn't feel the need to destroy my TV for a massive underbet on the DD, though
4500>>>>3000>>>>>>>>>>>>2999 or less.
(assuming we are committing to shoving the prisoner's dilemma tie)

I got FJ as educated guesses. On the Jboard lots did Guam and American Samoa thinking that one was "east" across the int'l date line. My lack of imagination helped on this one.

They shouldn't allow players to bet less than the clue value on a DD. ****ing gross.

A lot of the time $5 is the proper wager.

Maybe in a rare situation, perhaps if the DD is the final clue in regulation and the leader has 2x+5 $ second's score. When else?

I imagine there's a lot of categories where most players are sub 50% at getting the 2000 dollar clue

If you're leading by 20k, if you're dominating on the buzzer, if you don't like the category. But mainly because if you're looking at EV, a ton of the time the two best ends of the spectrum are going to be everything or $5.

LOL at rare situation. $5 might be the best wager at least once an episode.

Sure ok. Makes sense, I guess. But the situation tonight certainly called for an all in and not $5.

Pet peeve of mine is when contestants hunt for daily double and then make weak wagers. Cost middle guy the win.

Anyone notice what was different about the guy in the middle?

Spoiler:
Pretty sure a prosthetic hand/arm, couldn't figure out what looked so stiff about him.

Thought there were lots of easy answers that were missed or not even wrung in. Condi Rice?

I had no clue on FJ

Is anyone able to see Jeopardy! in the normal 7pm slot? My local p.o.s. Abc station absolutely HAS to cover the July 4 celebrations, which start exactly at 7pm! Can't they ****ing wait until 730?

They do this **** all the time. Yesterday for the first segment of the show (until the first commercial break) they had this obnoxious message covering half the screen about an IMPORTANT THUNDERSTORM!! we've never seen one of those, this is breaking news!! They MUST show it exactly during Jeopardy!.

We then got a reprieve until FJ when they had another VITALLY IMPORTANT message about the thunderstorm. And this one completely covered the entire FJ clue for 30 seconds and also covered the players' scores.

Absolute ****ing idiot scum running these stations. Put these ****ing ******ed messages on during one of the truly idiotic shows that run all day, both before and after Jeppardy!. I don't see why they have to save all the IMPORTANT LIFESAVING measages for the 7pm slot.

Absolutely ****ing enraging. True scum.

Liked the new champ. Didn't hunt but wagered correctly on the first DD. Thought she should have gone big on the second one. Henry VIII only had six wives, she knew all of them and it was a second row clue. Was a huge opportunity. Liked that she maximized FJ wager.

Yeah, just watched that episode earlier tonight and thought the same thing. The way she ran that category and clearly had all of his wives down cold, probably should have YOLOed it up and tried to lock the game up right there with an easy true DD. Obviously a lot easier to say that sitting here in retrospect knowing that all they were asking for was names, but still, an 800 dollar clue should be really easy for someone with her level of knowledge in that category.

Is it just me or has FJ been ridiculously easy lately? I have gotten like 9 of the last 10 correct, most of them instantly. I was extremely surprised today was a triple stumper. I thought for sure it would be RRR.

Standard brutal wager from the champ, why is so hard to wrap your head around wagering small? Also would not have been against a true daily double at the end there to come close to locking it up, an 800 clue in Chinese history was always going to be cake like that

Champ pissed that one away with a terrible wager. I take back the nice things I said!

Had no clue about FJ.

Guy at least had the sense to bet super small and not something like 3000. He was in control of the board a lot, he clearly wasn't confident at all with the category. But yeah, was a real good spot for a jam if you are proficient in the category.

Chinese history is one of those categories that sounds tough, but is always going to be easy so that the people playing along at home can follow along, it's not a surprise at all that Great Wall of China was the correct response. But, if they're going to let you win on a triple stumper anyways, why risk it?

Mrs Spartan said Secret Service after 2 seconds, so I don't know if I'd have gotten it or not. My brain first said IRS but I knew that wasnt it.

14000-11200-10600

3rd was essentially shoving, clearly going small was better (3400? 600?), much more likely to win a triple stumper with 1st/2nd betting big than being the only correct response.

2nd, not a clue where 7300 comes from. Doesnt cover 2nd, doesnt accomplish anything except win a WRW. IMO 2nd should have also gone small (2800?). Would even be happy with 2nd or 3rd tossing up a 0.

Meh on DD bet, it was an 800 clue. Does anyone have DD correct % by clue value?

It's a shade under 74% correct for an 800 dollar DJ DD. I forget what the exact numbers were at the time, I want to say something like 12600/11000/8000, and for those numbers, my model has shoving being by far the best choice. I assume unexploitable FJ wagering, so he'd never be able to win on a triple stumper like he did tonight, but even so, that's a pretty unlikely parlay of both other players getting it wrong and neither of them betting small enough to win on a triple stumper, doubt it would affect the numbers much.

Why does the graph have spikes and valleys? Shouldn't it be a smooth curve? It looks like a difference of a few $ can increase or decrease the winning %.

It's a Monte Carlo sim, so it's just random variance. It's more about the general trend line than a specific percentage at any one point.

2nd place lady tonight had one of the worst FJ wagers I've ever seen. She had 11k, leader had 22k -- obv she bets like 2300.
