If she bets zero and wins, she’s getting $16200 plus her expected future winnings. Chances to win once more are roughly 50% and the average payday for that should be in the neighborhood of her first win. For 3 games we’re already below 25%.

I haven’t done any math on that but I doubt her expected winnings from getting $16200 on the first day and going from there are far higher than a single $32200 payday. So getting an extra $16k here if she wins makes a huge difference. I feel like people often don’t really account for that.

Both other players objectively picked a bad sizing.
I think she should’ve capped her wager at $14999 (though I like the $600 wager better). If she bet $14999 and misses, she’s left with $1201 and stays ahead of Elliott in the event he ends up going for the lockout and misses.

Returning champ has $18,400, 2nd place challenger with $4,600 finds DD on what is certainly the last clue of the game. Third placer is in the red.

Wager: $4,400...

It's one thing to just do the stupid thing of betting 1-2k like some people do if they don't have any idea about strategy. But realizing you have to bet big and then still failing to get it right, that's impressive.

FWIW, today was one of the rare occurrences where I felt really bad for a contestant. Looked like Kalee never got anything going and just totally froze after those two bad misses in the Tennessee category. She buzzered in on a total of 2 questions in the DJ round.

There was a guy in the college (?) tournament who went all-in in FJ in a game he had locked. Not sure if he thought he was keeping that money.

Today, second place decided to be generous with her FJ wager and invite third to get into a tie but third politely declined.

Yes and no. In the event of a tie for 2nd, whoever was leading going into FJ gets the $2k while the other gets $1k.

Damn. Should be a buzzer race or preferably a Hamilton style duel.

Would singing and dancing be required in this duel?

If so, I'd definitely tune in.

I mean I thought he was a dork but come the **** on if u actually get upset or say he ruined anything u need to stop taking meaningless **** so seriously and get down off your pedestal.

he's a young man playing a ****ing game I'm gonna guess their is a massive overlap between ppl who actually got angry about his antics and the ppl who get angry about ppl celebrating home runs.

It kinda seemed fake, like the producers were like “Hey, is there any way you could act more dick-ish and villain-y for us”

OTOH, he was celebrating the board hitting him in the face. Sort of like saying "I'm king of the world" after your AA holds up vs KK.

"I'm a US Historian"
"I'm going for the kill"

He needs to win this thing, though. Jeopardy! needs a villain. Of course, if Jason gets him again in the semis, he'll beat him.

I mean, I love guys who wildly celebrate after hitting a HR. Almost as much as I love the chin music that follows.

I'm not saying he wasn't a huge dork for how he acted or I didn't roll my eyes at his awkwardness, just that actually getting upset by it or tweeting out attacking him makes u a million times worse.

ps: while I used to share your sentiments on chin music I urge everyone who still thinks it's OK to throw anywhere near someone's head to watch the video of pillar getting hit in the face last night.

Nothing wrong with what Ryan did in the least. You are competing for $250k, there should be adrenaline. Who cares what random wannabes on the internet think.

Buzzy did well.

Maybe that's what it was. Something about his performance bothered me, but I couldn't put my finger on it. As if, he's too "on" for Jeopardy!.

Minor nit, I think he's doing a really good job at hosting & running the game.
