Thought exact same thing. James must've been licking his chops when he saw those prey walk up.

Bowtie dude held his own for a while, but you could see him literally deflate after James' first DD get in DJ. It's getting to be a pretty familiar sight.

I'm not so sure about Trebek being all that different than his usual self, although I don't doubt it's a huge effort for him to keep his usual energy with what must be a grueling treatment regimen. Don't forget that some of his "terseness" comes from the fact that James kinda cuts off his comments between clues in an effort to make sure he gets the whole board.

For those keeping score at home, his average is now above the pre-James record.

When the competition goes straight to the $200 clues in Single Jeopardy it's basically already locked up for James

2:54 is Robin, of the famed $1K late DD wager, complaining that it's no fun to play against James because he prepared too hard beforehand or some such who the **** knows. Pretty funny.

Wow. She's the new Herbert Stempel, without the talent.

Robin's complaints about James being very disrespectful . Seems unlikely.

She sounds like a crazy butthurt *****.

James is the one true Jeopardy GOAT. He took a year off to train for it? Good for ****ing him!

I would totally wear Jeopardy apparel with James' likeness on it with the quote: "If you think it's just a GAME, you're not playing it right."

Lol, she gives no examples, just vague "he was disrespectful to me and some staff...oh and to the game itself." Vegas odds are -400 that she posted something inane like this on Facebook too.

Other contestant gives a specific example of how James was indeed respectful.

Sounds about right to me.

If he took a year off to train it makes me respect him even more.

Even if he wasn't great to you I don't think its a good look to bring it up.

Absolutely. How about just ALL IN with his **** eating grin emblazoned across the front. I would snap buy that.

The James hate is ludicrous and the average person is just so stupid. Hurts my head.

LOL at these James vs Ken #s

Play on, playa!

I awesome that we are now completely caught that contestants have watched him at home before going into the studio to play- so not only witnessesing taping but being fully aware of all the press and background?

Those two looked liked lambs led to slaughter. Hopefully there is someone out there with the gumption that is training to put up a fight (not that I want him to lose, just sweat a little)

So he is what 90% to lock the game and if doesn’t lock but still has the lead he is 95% to get FJ. Less than a handful of games per 100 are going to have drama and 1 at most any real jeopardy? (Extrapolating from a still too small sample size- that’s the hard part about rare occurrences).

“It isn’t fair. He’s winning. This is supposed to be fun and it wasn’t.” Wow. Just. Wow.

Before the first commercial on her episode I said “That girl is nuts and I bet would kill you in your sleep if you left anything out of place in the house”. I stand by my original assessment.

That lady seems like the type who gets mad at professional sports team for continuing to score after locking up a win. Does she want James to make himself less money so its more fun for her? The guy is making life changing money and setting himself up to prob make 10's of millions from his Legend as greatest Jeopardy contestant of all time.

He has approached the game with a whole new strategy with the skills to back it up. I am glad the one guy completely contradicted her and mentioned how great James was with his kid.

I would like to thank Mr. Holzhauer for allowing us to have to endure the bare minimum of Robin.

Trebek should retire if/when James loses.

James should retire if/when Trebek needs to leave the show.

She probably also considers it bad form to buzz in as quickly as you can if you know the answer. It's like, -why can't people just be cool and give it a second first, especially if you've been getting a lot of the answers. Let everyone get a turn, dammit. How unsportsmanlike. Excuse me--- unsportsPERSONlike.

She reminds me of poker noobs who get mad when a player raises preflop.

I guarantee she refuses to do it doggystyle. It's so demeaning.

Pretty fun op-ed from Ken:

Love this: "I’m no Alex Trebek, but maybe I still have a little moral authority with “Jeopardy!” viewers. If so, please take it from me: The game will be fine."

Link didn't work for me. Also, the Washington Post and other newspapers need to get over the idea that I'll ever pay to read them.
