Last night was a first for me. We've seen many examples of nobody having any sports knowledge, but last night, every music question was a triple stumper. Not a single buzz in.

The first one, in SJ, when nobody knew Jim Morrison, I figured, OK, they're too young. But in the pop music category in DJ, silence across the board.

While looking up the questions on J! Archive the "random FJ question" was "two of the 4 US states bordering Mexico". I was in total disbelief before realizing that might have been from a kids game. Clicking the episode link confirmed that.

Is anyone watching Jeopardy Masters? It's on Hulu so no need to watch it on regular TV. Through her first two games Victoria has an average Coryat of 25.5k. That's pretty insane. Tonight she goes head to head with James and based on how she's been crushing the buzzer and he hasn't, she might be the favorite.

I don't watch much but saw last Friday may 3 when Henry lost for absolutely no reason with terrible fj bid. Also thought the final jeopardy was incredibly easy but 2 missed it smh.

I probably could have won that game and I'm **** at jeopardy

Yogesh didn’t get Space Force?

Pretty great showing by Victoria

She's extraordinary , I never believed I would see a Jeopardy player better than James but she has to be the big favorite to win the Masters

She made a half-assed DJ wager though on one of those games that cost her some points. I'd still make James the slight favorite just based on game strategy.

James still plays the game better but Victoria's knowledge base in Masters level games is superior. Yogesh's is as well. Those two have been big names in the quizzing community for some time.

James lost it when he wrote gay little articles for The Athletic

On one hand she did make 1 or 2 half assed DJ wagers in the normal course of play. But they were safety plays where all she really wanted was to guarantee the one point for second.

I thought she played the strategy pretty spectacularly.

I thought they both played too timidly in the first round of FJ. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me the play in the first round is to go all-in if you have a reasonable chance of getting it right, because then you've pretty much locked up the whole match. Then again it could be that both didn't really like the category.

Scores going into final:
$9,200
$5,200
$3,000

So 2nd place naturally bets zero.

Is there a term for the opposite of Jeopardy Masters?

Wildly stupid FJ wager by Amar on Tuesday May 28th's game. Then the winner makes a dumb FJ wager the next day herself, not even attempting to cover the leader in FJ.

I’m like 2 weeks behind but I have to vent about this girl named Joyce

Joyce - 9000
Champ - 18,100

Final question on board is a $400, guy in the negative buzzes in and gets in wrong. Champ doesn’t ring in, and Joyce doesn’t guess… Is happy to go into final drawing dead.

Amazes me how bad these people are at realtime math and strategy

I can forgive that in the heat of the moment when the scores are a little harder to decipher on the fly, but 18100 vs 9000 is about as easy as it gets to do the math on, lol.

I've always been curious as to how much time contestants actually get to give their DD wagers. I've never seen Alex or Ken actually give any warning, so I'm wondering if they can sit there for 3 minutes if they want and they just edit out the pause later.

Of course that won't stop people from constantly doing the "decent sized DD bet that's actually the worst of both worlds because it leaves you at 25% the leader's score if wrong, but only puts you up $600 with $3000 left in clues on the board if correct" thing.

I get the feeling DD wagers only receive about as much screen time as they get, as some contestants definitely look like they feel the pressure of making a wager in the moment.

I have to figure they get borderline as much time as needed for FJ wagers, which make the really dumb wagers there even more inexcusable.

Technically, they have as much time as they want, although the host will certainly prod them for a wager. The extra time can always be edited out in post production

Most contestants never consider how to wager, That’s why you see the blank look on most faces when they hit a daily double.
