How I Met Your Mother: Season 6 - Page 22 - OOTV -- Two Plus Two Poker Forums

Just wanted to say I really like this show. The gf and I have been watching random episodes on CBS/Lifetime and think it's just great.

I really like the dialogue and we can both relate to Marshall/Lilly cause we're kind of the "married" couple in our group of friends.

I have been watching them out of order, but I think it's a good show you can just turn on and have a few good laughs. It gets a little complicated with who is always dating who, but I can usually figure that out.

Just my two cents.

seasons 1-3 were really good. the last few have been hit or miss.

i saw the pineapple incident and the episode where ted meets victoria last week

man those were some good episodes

or are you saying HIMYM is showing things happening out of order?

if so, what evidence can you provide that they have ever shown any major time shifts in the show?

(i know in a certain episode they go back and forth)

I just don't see any basis for Zoey to be the mother by saying she was living with ted's student while ted was dating her.

if it ends up being Cameron, it's a cop out

Also the fact that the mother is in the classroom on Ted's first day teaching when he starts teaching in the wrong classroom.

Seems like if Zoey was the mother maybe she would have mentioned that or remembered him.

All I'm saying is it is possible that after the episode we saw the mother's apartment in season 5 she could have moved in with her new husband the Captain. Not that it's likely, just that it's possible.

The reasons I hope it's her are

A)She's probably the most likable girl Ted's been with besides Robin
B)If it's not her the upcoming Ted+Zoey arc is 99% pointless

If Zoey's not the mother, and she doesn't lead to the mother, and their relationship doesn't lead Ted to change at all or do something to get to the mother it is pointless in a show that's about Ted meeting his wife.

Did you also forget that in the season premiere Ted said he met the mother at the wedding (which we presume is his Ohio friend's wedding at which Ted is the best man)?

This shouldn't be a debate. It's 0% that Zoey is the mother.

Like I said, if Zoey's not the mom (which I'm pretty certain of barring asspull by the writers), it's just another relationship that probably won't lead to the endgame. If the show was just Ted telling wacky stories from 2005-whenever he meets the mother and doesn't keep pointing out which relationship fail, I wouldn't mind.( All of season 2 was him dating someone that can't be the mother. It was fun to watch, but for the main plot it was almost worthless. )

whatever guys. its a sitcom. this isnt lost. i dont care who the mother is or how it ends. i dont care if the story has a point, i only care if its funny or enjoyable enough to keep tuning in. neil and jason are funny enough that i imagine it will be good enough till its canceled or ends.

It's not as good as 30 rock or P&R but it's usually funny. NPH and Jason Segel consistently kill it and I <333 Robin and all the Canada shtick.

imo ted actually marries zory, have kids, etc
he then tells his kids he went back in time to make sure he would stay with zoey and he actually never met the mother. kids disappear cos they were never born. universe equilibrium restored, show ends. that's all folks!

Common sense goes out the window when dealing with TV show plot twists. Something that should be a 0.001% chance has a minimum 5% chance of happening.

Way ahead of you on this guys. And it's definitely not .03%, it's way higher. It should, of course, be 0.0%, but that's TV writers for you.

I think that's a narrow way to look at this show, it's a show about being young and relationships and **** and Ted meeting his wife is just a device they use to keep some kind of a "main plot" in the show.
