I thought this episode felt like the old show again.

I'm with dragon here, didn't like it either.
Probably mostly due to the multi-way "how it happened" flashback, which I hardly ever find entertaining. (I know HIMYM does that a lot)

I didn't really mind this episode at all either. It was the first ep in awhile that Marshall and Lilly didn't annoy me to the point of shutting it off.

This episode and the Blitz were the only episodes where I even laughed one time this season, so I guess it was a good one.

what's with ted being robin's best man all of the sudden?

writers want to confuse viewers? or is that a wedding for another season?

i guess they don't want ted meeting the mom during this season (at punchy's wedding) so they just invented another wedding where Ted will be the best man in a few years.


basically exactly what Dexter and SoA did all season to keep their plots going. but since this show sucks I'll just go with it

just hope they don't go unreliable narrator route and have Ted think he meets mother at Punchy's wedding then at he end say "oh oops its actually Robins wedding that I met your mother"

Absolutely anything is possible, including this, or really just "oh wait a minute, I didn't meet your mother at a wedding. Sorry *roll credits*", kinda like with the goat.

Common sense goes out the window when dealing with TV show plot twists. Something that should be a 0.001% chance has a minimum 5% chance of happening.

I could see them going with Zoey being invited to one of the weddings and it's the first time Ted sees her as more than a friend and she's the mother.

NPH tweated 55 minutes ago that the guy who played Robin's dad a couple seasons ago was a "D-Bag" for not reprising a cameo in a future ep because the roll wasnt big enough so they recast the part. I look up the actor on wiki to try and remember what he looked like, skimmed the entry and found the tweat with NPH slamming him is already listed on his wiki page.

He's the guy from some soap opera IIRC (Days of our Lives?), and the new guy is apparently Ray Wise. (Devil from Reaper)

So, speaking of the primetime game show satire HIMYM did last week, with Alex Trebek's "Million Dollar Coin Flip," (you better check yourself before you Trebek yourself!), it's pretty amazing that an Onion joke on HIMYM became reality last night with the FOX premiere of Million Dollar Money Drop. It was everything that episode was making fun of. Inflated drama, moronic game format, stupid bimbo models doing nothing, etc. Not nearly as exaggerated as the HIMYM writers might have thought when they came up with the joke.

(BTW, a week later I'm still laughing at Barney's Oprah impression).

Also I'm so familiar with the YouTube clip of Oprah saying "Auuuustralia!!!!" that I actually thought Barney was going to say that when he started "Auuuustr-" but then he said "ip club!" So awesome.

was trying to figure out why they were counting down from 50 the entire episode. then boom, not quite what i was expecting.

I assumed the countdown was going to end with Lilly being pregnant, it was a bit of a twist.

not sure what the point of the end was.......episode was pretty solid till then.

Yea that sucked, I was distracted by the suck though by counting the numbers I guess.

Baby stuff ALWAYS sucks.

They've gone from crazy to have a baby, to we'll let it happen when it happens, to yay we're pregnant, to we don't want a kid just yet, to fertility doctor in what feels like 3 eps.

When the show was 3/4 of the way through, I was thinking to myself, "Even though this is the worst piece of crap I've ever seen, at least now I know the show can't possibly get any worse." But then they killed off Marshall's dad for cheap, desperate pathos. So ******ed.

I already sat through the miserable "Cox" and "Are you coming?" jokes, not to mention re-hashing the Robin Sparkles stuff without any new twist, in the hopes that the misery would finally end and I could move on with my life. But no, when they finally realized they clean ran out of jokes that weren't even funny in the first place, then went to an all-out Very Special HIMYM.

Has a show ever trainwrecked so brutally in the history of TV? How do you go from being one of the funniest sitcoms on television to worse than Outsourced?*

*I've never seen Outsourced but I mean come on, right?

Maybe they'll make a joke next week about how the last thing Marshall remembers about his dad is him screaming out "COX COX COX" while Marshall is trying to jerk off in the bathroom.
