I totally missed the near-slap in the episode and I had forgotten the original bet, so I wouldn't have gotten it if I had seen it. Very cool callback though.

but, i'm a little concerned because when the show is writing new stuff, it's not a good, so they go back to the old stand by, and they know that's good.

Had more time to think about it, and I guess it is possible that the wedding from the opening episode of the season is in fact punchy's. It would be pretty cool if Ted in some manner was affiliated to the mother dating all the way back to high school. Still, I don't necessarily think this will be the case. Its not like writers have never used misdirection before. In order for Punchy's wedding to be the one from the premiere, the following details must be true: first, somehow Marshall, who has no close connection or liking of Punchy, must be one of the groomsmen. Second, Lily would have to be the bridesmaid of the bride, despite not knowing or even being in the same state as the bride. Third, I just don't think Ted's emotions from the opening scene of the season align with how his emotions would be for a less meaningful friend like Punchy. Ted seemed down, hopeless like he was the last of his close friends to be single. Unless some meaningful relationship of Ted's went sour right before the wedding, the most likely explanation for this is that a closer friend than Punchy is indeed getting married. Punchy getting married clearly wouldn't affect Ted the same since he feels bad that Punchy is working a dead end job and in a crappy city. This is all Punchy has going for him.

If this wedding is where he meets the mother then cool, but I think many details will have to be accounted in order for this to be true.

i mean, how hard did they have to work to make Ted the best man at Punchy's wedding? I don't remember any other friends of Ted's that they could use. Maybe make him the BM at one of his students wedding.

yeah last 2 episodes have been good quality. my favorite part was when barney snap went to slap marshall when they put the video on. thats why they kept talking about how it was porn.

rewatched the most recent episode again last night and laughed harder than the first time. the alan thicke facial expressions when robin and jessica are doing multiplication and jacking off the joystick as well as barney and ted trying to not laugh when they are watching the "beaver" talk were all incredible.

I actually liked Hurley in this ep!

liked the episode a lot, show seems back on track.

Great first act and then totally fell off from there.

Having Barney become the Blitz and the contrived stuff with Zoey (he calls her the wicked step-mom, they steal the toy with the inscription bla bla bla) episode basically went off a cliff. The whole hatred with Zoey was weird actually, consider they left things on good terms in the museum ep IIRC.

Basically the only thing I liked about the second half was Robin becoming infatuated with a stranger based solely on a picture of his penis.

Haha, I liked that ep. Although it would have been better if Ted and Zoey kept arguing into the kitchen and then after an awkward pause started making out furiously (who cares that that scene's been done ten thousand times?). Has Ted been adulterer before? Never too late to start!
