This has greatly exceeded my expectations so far. I’m really enjoying it.

Most recent ep was far better than the first 2 I thought. More action, less exposition-y dialogue. Excellent potential to keep building momentum.

Lol I know you're being facetious, but unfortunately most of those characteristics were likely more important than the names when the characters were being imagined.

doesn't help that he repeats names so often. I know he's just doing what people do IRL but it's damn confusing.

If someone had a gun pointed to my head and asked me to explain who all the aegons were I'd just give up on the spot.

So far I'm quite enjoying this season. I did not enjoy episode 3 as much though. I certainly appreciate the effort to create the action sequence at the end but the idea of Daemon rushing in like that seemed so far fetched to me that the scene wasn't enough to save the episode for me. Still. this is the show I'm most excited to see each week (hopefully that continues).

I really like the actor choices for Damon and Rhaenyra in particular, as well as the Sea Snake. Everyone else I'm pretty undecided on.

I liked the episode but also not a fan of that scene. He would have died for sure without plot armor.

I know I'm messed up in the head but disregarding that.

Maybe I just relate with the character more but how can you put the brattiness of Rhanerya and Daemon in the same sentence.

Rhanerya basically just says "wah I'm a woman the patriarchy" and receives everything in her lap for no reason, yet still continues to whine.

Daemon was fkd over by his spineless brother and was then cast aside for saying "Heir for a day" in a private club. While Viserys seemingly cast him away time and time again before that as well to terrible assignments on the recommendations of his exploitative council.

I hope Daemon guts Viserys.

i mean, at least rhaenyra has some good reasons for being like that: she's a teenager, her mother died, her brother died, her dad married her best friend, she's isolated and feels like a political pawn, etc

daemon just seems like a man-child crybaby
if he just shut up and did whatever job he was given he'd still be heir rn, assuming that's what he wants
hopefully we get more background for why he's like this, as it stands he seems like a self-destructive brat of a kid brother

they both seem to be acting out bc they feel unloved by king v, but they both need to grow tf up about it already

I'll give you that she definitely didn't like the Alicent thing.

Edit: Also obviously everyone on Viserys council has motive to talk as much **** as possible about Daemon. He seems extremely competent up to this point.

I expected it would happen at the end of the season but at this pace it will be Ep 5 or 6.

I thought the hunt was done incredibly well. I loved the politics, the boar, the hart, and Rhanerya walking back to camp bloody.


Does anyone else find it a bit odd that the king is so old? There's a huge emphasis in the show regarding marrying young. Rhanerya was 14 when the king remarried, so he could easily have been in his 30s. Seemed like the writers mostly wanted it to be as gross as possible when King Viserys marries his young daughter's friend.

The part that kind of gets me is that this war has supposedly been going on for two years. The crab people have repelled everything so far and Daemon is losing the war to the point that his brother is going to have to come rescue him.

Then they win the war in 10 minutes because he goes kamikaze and the crab people "get a taste for flesh". I can sooner believe he shakes off a couple of arrows than that.

The least believable part about that whole war storyline was that it lasted 2+ years when one side had dragons and the other side didn't. That it was even a struggle at all is what's unbelievable to me.

I can see the crab people hiding out in the cave for a short period of time, but there is no way they can eat, sleep in **** in there for 2 years and be ready to fight still.

If you expect any level of realism you’re going to be very disappointed. I think I underestimated my own level of fanboism. I am looking forward to this every week more than any other show in recent memory.

Episode 4 was good. There are lots of stuff for us to list that we noticed, such as...

The time jump seemed about 6 month to less than 2 years based age of Alicent's second child. Also someone said some time comment like 3 or 4 years had past since some event.

King Viserys' illness is still getting progressively worse.

Queen Alicent isn't in love with Viserys enough to enjoy the sex with the old ill king. Alicent was back to picking at her fingers when stressed.

Daemon was still working his plans within plans to be king or the father of a king.

Rhaenyra got buck wild. And in lying about it to Alicent, Rhaenyra swore on her mother's memory. Viserys swore on Rhaenyra's mothers memory that he wouldn't change his choice of succession.

Mysaria has switched from being a whore to being a spy called the White Worm and uses children as spies like Varys did in Game of Thrones.

Maesters know how to brew up a "morning after" drink to try and avoid an unwanted pregnancy. But we don't see if Rhaenyra drank it. Therefore depending on the next episode and time jump, we might be left to wonder if Rhaenyra is pregnant or already has a child, if the father is Sir Criston or her betrothed Laenor Velaryon or Daemon. Black hair/Sir Criston, black skin/Laenor, white hair/white skin/Daemon might play it self out or leave us guessing forever.
