i can buy that it isn't something rhaenys would do, especially after having that conversation with alicent about not killing ppl. but then i wish they staged it differently where she didn't kill a bunch of innocents lol

They will be putting it all into the season finale, so will see how it goes but it feels rushed right now.
seems fine. takes 5 minutes for rhaenys to land in dragonstone and tell them what happened, and the rest of the ep for them to plan & respond. and whatever big thing happens will lead into next season

think it makes total sense. vicerys was a nice guy, but he figuratively and almost literally died when aemma did. and lost his son, and his brother, and faith in his dreams, and his body fell apart, etc. seemed like he started spending much of his free time with his model city judging by how big it got, rather than with his kids. rhaenyra was his only child in a lot of ways, and he lost his relationship with her too. that favouritism was felt most strongly by aegon, which i guess is part of why he's so adrift.
and with alicent, her mother died when she was young & her father is basically tywin, and then at 15 she was forced to marry her best friend's dad. she was isolated with her kids as the queen, rather than alicent. her entire life was about being repressed and controlled, sitting at a nice window in a prison. and as a result she continued the cycle of abuse that she experienced by treating aegon like a political pawn his entire life, forcing him into a marriage and dangerous role that he didn't want. not surprised he feels unloved. and aemond & helaena both seem like untreated autistics, so that's a lot of what they're about. shame they probably didn't get more attention from dad too because aemond seems to be a historian, and viscerys really should have chatted with that daughter about dreams.
