General spoiler about an as-of-yet unknown episode or moment.
Spoiler:
Apparently something happens early on (don't know when) that is total game changer. I planned on watching this eventually, but knowing that I'll probably do what I usually do and knock it out quick. Then be annoyed as hell that I did it by the end.
almost fell asleep during his monologue about the neighbor kid. Tried following it 5 or 6 times and still never managed to pay attention long enough to find out how it ended.
Great 2 episodes, a lot better than E1-2. Though I guess this show has gone into complete crazy over the top bull **** territory now. First the state of the union, then reporter guy getting out, then reporter guy being able to carry a gun that close to the president, and then the acting president his order to hand the guy over to China. It's better than the mess S3 was I guess.
Also, I happen to be rewatching The West Wing. Totally different shows but the difference in the level of writing is really apparant when you're watching them both.
Just started the first episode, but can someone tell me who the guy is in the opening scene. I think he is one of the journalists from the earlier, but I have forgotten exactly who he was and how he wound up in prison. Haven't read this thread or looked it up because I don't want to accidentally spoil myself.
Didn't the Sopranos teach us that its never good television to have your main character lying in a hospital bed hallucinating
Spoiler:
I hate dream/hallucinations scenes so I just skip those. I just wish they'd set all the piece in motion quicker and he'd gotten shot in the 2nd episode instead of boring me for the first 3.5 eps. Watching a neutered Underwood desperately clinging to power was so tedious. Now we're back to having a conniving sociopath who will stop at nothing to grab as much power as possible, which is what made the show fun in season 1.

agreed, I'm halfway through the season (ep7) and even if everything is as it seems
Spoiler:
with FU and Claire (I think it is?) Im hyped to see how they destroy Republican dude. plus I think we have some long-con s1 type facemelter equity from FU or Claire against each other.
Much, much better than S3. However there are certainly major flaws.
Spoiler:
the Supreme Court story arc was left completely unexplored and incomplete. Conway was introduced way too late for being such a major character. A lot of the ICO thing was so, so manufactured and artificial. The whole NSA/data manipulation/whatever bull**** was massively underutilized. So much was left partially complete.
All in all, very good, not great. Lots of greatness left on the table.
