I thought they foreshadowed the Berlin lady as the one trying to kill Carrie earlier in the episode. Don't remember exactly, but Carrie was like "who would want to kill me" and the next scene was a shot of Berlin lady.

So there are 2 different scenarios possible?

- Someone in the CIA operation (Berlin lady) is sabotaging the official plan with their own, with the help of others either officially or nonofficially

- Someone external to the CIA is in their operation and sabotaging it

Before the Berlin lady answered the phone I was thinking it was the second, but now I'm leaning toward a combination.

And Russia is supporting Assad in real life as well so would make sense they kill the possible candidate to replace him.

Yeah, she's either working for the Russians or pretending to. She blew up the plane and tried to kill Carrie, no doubt.

Lets just list out some Berlin lady crazy stuff:

In a relationship with Saul
Really really really did not want to get reassigned to US homeland
Tried to backstab Saul to Dar Adal even tho they are sleeping together
Answered call from Quinn's phone after assassination attempt

Not looking very good for this lady, she is probably a counter spy. The fact she is sleeping with Saul must be part of her strategy. She is way out of his league, makes sense now.

I thought the handling of the hackers friend was a hackneyed. As soon as the guy said "I'm not stupid! They sent a car!" everyone knew he was a dead man walking. I would have liked if he at least made some attempt to be smart, like meeting them in a public place (not the back of a Russian restaurant lol) and not handing over the drive until he had left said place unharmed.

Whenever Carrie starts getting crazy I always think of the line from Dumb and Dumber when Loyd says "You've got that crazy look in your eye Harry!"

Wasn't Quinn's phone. Carrie lifted it off the hit man that shot Quinn. Rest of the post is on point though.

Remember a couple episodes ago when we see a bearded guy who looked like Saul leave the hit list for Quinn that told him to kill Carrie? Well, turns out that was on purpose to trick Quinn into thinking it was Saul leaving him that name.

I think CIA lady is working for Russia. For the reasons mentioned in this thread, and also because she made a big deal about her embedded connections in Ukraine.

Latest episode was the exact same formula theyve been using for a while now. Stuff happens because we're told it does. Not much nuance, intrigue or any interesting character arcs, pretty bland now imo

Yeah it seems likely the twist will be that they realized the Berlin lady was up to something and tricked her etc. It will look like Saul is getting busted, until Berlin lady is busted instead. Or something.
