The finale was A+. I can't wait until next season. There were some episodes in the middle that I wasn't crazy about, but overall it was a strong season.

Will get to this at some point. Any of you readers of the book? How close (w/o going into details obviously) is the show?

For me Handmaids Tale was better than both 1984 and Brave New World for that whole trio of modern classic dystopian fiction novels. Really loved the book.

Made the mistake of recommending it to my Mother last time I was at her house. She bought the 1st episode on the spot and turned it on.

Interesting. Your post made me take the risk of spoilering myself by reading the novel's summary, and you weren't lying. The book plot is over and done. Everything in season 2 will be completely original.

It's funny how long this book has been around and held in generally high regard, yet very few people seem to have read it. I've picked it up and put back down several times over the years without ever opening it.

It's pretty amazing to have all three shows airing during one summer. Incredible, really. What a time to be alive as a TV buff. I currently couldn't even rank these seasons (Leftovers S3 / Twin Peaks reboot / The Handmaid's Tale) in any order, because they are all so damn amazing.

I've barely been able to stop thinking about the show ever since I finished the season. Gripping, powerful stuff. It's definitely quite a feminist show, and sometimes makes you feel a bit uncomfortable being a male (regardless of how whether you identify as a feminist or not), but I think that's somehow a good thing. Can't recommend this show enough.

Fantastic show, binged it in a few days. Both myself and my bf enjoyed it equally as much. Best show on TV atm. Moss is incredible. Loved the book, read it years ago.

Binged this in two days... days that I had a lot of other stuff that needed doing that didn't get done. Just finished up, and now I need a shower to get the yuck off of me. Moss is great in everything she does, but this has to be her best stuff ever.

The dude that played the husband killed it too, think my favorite episode was the one centered on him.

Now the long wait for S02.
