I'd really like this show...if it were better. The scriptiness is cringeworthy.

it's too bad parker started arguing with his grandpa.

the hoffmans just spend cash every show and haven't been making a dime. the episode last week here's 5,000 cash. next show 2,000 for repairs.

harness has an operation in the offseason, then just hops on an airplane out.

I wish I was a down on my luck miner.

Behind the scenes. They had a marathon of old episodes first.

Yah, in general this show is starting to wear thin. 10 episodes in and no mining has happened yet really.

And this director guy that constantly seems to want to get in the show pisses me off. He'll be out there mining next season imo.

love this show. These guys struggle through so much adversity, youll see that especially if you watch behind the scenes and episode 00. They are such gamblers at heart. Todd makes so many mistakes, he should really hire a accountant and a drafter to sort out his claims and paper work, and drafter to organize his mine before they start leveling the land. At least this season he brought on 2 experts. That green wash table was really an amazing invention, it cleaned the gold very well, better than any other contraption ive seen.

Yeah, both the green and red contraptions seem to be really slick.

That said, Todd is an idiot that is getting paid big money to be an idiot.

I don't get how the Hoffman crew got so little gold in the 18 hour run when there was so much visible surface gold in that one area.

They complain about that sluethsbox - but how far away could the gold have gone? Rocks go in at the top and come out at the bottom. If there's missing gold it has to be between point A and point B.

Is 9 ounces that small an amount? At half that pace they crush their goal.

I didn't get why they were so disappointed, seems like they made about 15k in 18 hours, sounds good to me.

The water will take it into the creek or wherever their water dumps. Gonna be very hard to get that.

I think what happened and maybe what they realized was, the sleuth box was filled with debris and gold by hour ten.. Yet they continued to work for another 8 hours where it was all but a waste because the gold just washed right over. Todd should have called it a night, and done a clean out by hour ten.

It seemed clear to look at the riffles that they were clogged pretty good and they we unable to catch anything else beyond hour eight. Todd is such a pisspoor leader its amazing the rest of he crew still listens to his dumbass. I also lol atthe idea of running 24 hours. I mean, why? You only have 1 crew so you are just gonna waste the next day with every one sleeping. So instead of working 2 twelve hour shifts in the light with everyone rested, lets work a 24 hour shift, half of that spent in the dark with a tired workforce. Does not compute.

All the numbers are inflated. In the area that they are in, they will only get 50-70% of spot price, so even though they said 15k/9 ounces they really won't get anywhere near that.

Ya well maybe they will take all the gold and fly back to the mainland states and get market rate.

No, it's not due to the market. It's due to the refining cost and actual purity of the gold. Much the same as if you try to scrap a gold ring, a 10k ring is worth less than a 14k gold ring of the same weight.

Been watching season 2 and just went back and watched about half of season 1 on Netflix. Some observations:

- WTF at these guys bringing their families up there and expecting them to be anything other than a giant bored pain in the ass distraction.
- Show is so much better when they are following three claims rather than one.
- Season 1 they set Dakota Fred up to be the huge villain, but a sympathetic character in season 2. He's better as a douche.
- Totally detracts from season 1 knowing that they come back for a season 2. "We suck at mining but are good enough at getting ratings that Discovery needed us back so we once again put everything we own on the line!"
- So glad Dorsey didn't come back after he got punched out by Greg in Season 1. He was the worst actor in the whole cast, and we never got to see his wife naked.
- "If they can't fix it, it could mean the end of their season!!!"
-Parker Schnabel is the best character on the whole show. Was totally rooting for him to find giant nugs at the top of that hill. Kid seems like he busts his ass and gets respect from the old guys - not easy at 17.

I'm not feeling much sympathy for Fred in 2, although they do get you feeling a little for him with his house getting flooded and stuff.

Parker is awesome.

Fred is such a prick job for what he did to the hoffmans, kicked them out of that mine right when the going got good, after the hoffmans invested half a year into porcupine mine.

So he does really seem like a villian, but than you find out hes got a stump leg, and a ugly wife, so I don't hate him as much now.

It seems if they are going to run more than 8 hours it would be smart to clean out every 8 hours and then continue running. All they have to do is clean out the box and the miners moss and put it back in and keep running, but for some reason they don't seem to grasp that concept.
