Tony has a perfectly valid point, if there is gold in the first couple feet of bedrock, he wants it, as well he should.

I disagree if it puts Parker in the negative why should he? Maybe he should lease the land to the Hoffmans and see how much they yield

I think it is incorrect to say it puts Parker in the negative. Parker is looking at it from his best interest perspective. The bedrock ground doesn't make as much per yard and is harder on his equipment (perfectly logical). Tony is saying if you want the good ground, you gotta run the crappy ground too. Tony has a hell of a lot more experience than Parker and if he thinks you can find a good pay streak in the bedrock, there is a reason for it.

I also think its awesome that Tony goes out there with a crew of 3, 20+ year old equipment and in 3 days bangs out that much gold.

No relaxing for his kids. They get to work as hard as their dad. Also we know the person Tony will listen to

What you are seeing in the show is typically what happens. People stand around and discuss what needs to be done instead of just doing it. Tony knows it's better to make a decision and keep moving forward. Yes, you might make the wrong decision but it's more important to keep completing milestones. You can fix the mistakes as you go. Tony is the man.
While I agree, there's always a downside to someone like that. Typically your either re-doing their work because they did it incorrectly in the first place, or your being put in danger in order to get the job done. Neither one is ideal.

I think if Fred Dodge Tony Beets & Gene cheeseman worked together they would find all the worlds gold

I saw the Tony Beets episode and they never mentioned what happened to the farm when he left. Also nothing about the oldest daughter. Never knew their was one. Monica is a dead ringer for the mom at 18. I though Minnie was older also not low 50's

All these years later......... Todd Hoffman is still an idiot.

THE DAKOTA BOYS ARE BACK!!!

In case you haven’t checked in in a couple years, yes Todd Hoffman is still the village idiot and not only that- he has awarded a washplant to his equally idiotic (and somehow much skinnier) son. Who proceeds to **** everything up every chance he gets.

I can’t believe I still watch this trash.

I still watch this garbage too. At least Parker still crushes it because LOL Todd Hoffman, also not sure what they're doing with Tony Beets, him and his family seem like a pretty insignificant part of the show now.... but yeah this is the show I watch in the background when I'm doing work or some other stuff.

Tony Beets is too efficient to make for good TV. What separates them from the other groups is that when something breaks, they quickly fix it the proper way. They don't deal with the same thing over and over again. Also, half the TV time is spent on moving the dredge and that's boring as hell to watch.

I find Parker/Rick/Mitch fun to watch mostly because of Mitch. That guy seems like a mechanical genius with his fixes. Hoffman's are such a train wreck and that keeps me watching them as well. I can't stop watching this show.

I also still sort of background-watch this, though I don't really know why. Every episode is so formulaic at this point, and while Todd is undoubtedly still an idiot, even his group is a relatively well-oiled machine compared to the first couple seasons when they could barely get a wash plant working, which takes some of the comedy value out of it. The new Dakota Boys show (Gold Rush: White Water) looks kind of interesting, at least maybe it'll be a break from the monotony of just watching excavators scooping dirt for an hour in between mundane breakdowns we've all seen before.

Ok I’ll admit it, I think I miss the Hoffmans.

The drama this season seems a bit overblown and contrived (Parker vs Tony conflict first two episodes def 100% set up). On the other hand, the Hoffman crew was so incompetent that all their drama was completely believable because they were all bumbling idiots. Maybe rick will fill this void.

Sill watching though.
