also whats the deal with their language. its like they only know two words in Minnesota... "fella" and "heck" , are they like canadians or smth?
While I think her role was narrowish, she did a really good job as Molly. She's definitely not your typical hot actress, she gets it done with her craft and believability instead of a figure from FHM or my avatar – clearly not unlike her paragon in the movie.

She's the favorite part from the 2 AVClub reviewers that did the show.

I thought you were joking, that was the only conclusion I was able to draw. I overestimated.

Figured 20% chance he was not serious, and gave him the benefit of the doubt. Should have known better.

Since it got renewed, decided to try the last 8 episodes of "The 100". Would have been improved with cutting a bunch of the teen romantic blahblahblah. (But as that's their target audience it is sort of inevitable) I found the story compelling and different enough to carry me through to the end.

WTF is extant even about?

The name and very vague outline from Wikipedia make it sound interesting but also very terrible and boring at the same time.

Anyone who thinks House of Cards doesn't deserve to be there is wrong. It's called Outstanding Drama Series, not Outstanding Must Mirror Real Life Show. House of Cards had more drama in it than probably any TV show this past year (it is ELITE hyperdrama). It's never intended to be believable, and anyone who doesn't just relish in how hyperdramatic it is, just doesn't get the show. It's also one of the top 5 best done shows where it matters.

It's far more distressing that Hannibal was completely snubbed. The artistic wing of the Academy doesn't exist anymore.

rectify and masters of sex are both better than house of cards season 2. season 1 was great! but season 2 was kinda boring. i didn't even bother watching the last episode for like a month or so.

the hyper drama didn't bother me as much as i simply lost interest.

Rectify has no chance at any EMMYs, get used to that. It's a popularity contest, it's not even remotely legit. Throughout my entire career I was told that it's b.s., but still held out hope that some of the best stuff could still get there. I've now officially given up hope of any sanity in the Academy. They could be forgiven for snubbing Hannibal season 1, but snubbing season 2 is one of the single worst snubs in TV history.

you and i don't exactly have the same taste, but i might go back and try hannibal again since you say season 2 is so good. i really like the danish actor.

also i listened to an interview about how mad men is a racist show. there are no sympathetic black characters. at first, i was like "gtfo it's a period piece". but then the guy made the point that there are tons of sympathetic female characters. so the 60s argument doesn't hold up

I guess we look at things different b/c there was nothing outstanding about HOC S2. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the show but prefer about 15 things more. A fun show like 24 I love I but still wouldn't crack my top 5.

I guess you missed the episodes where they address race relations in the 60s directly?

the good wife, big bang theory, modern family off the top of my head also confirmed racist for not having any sympathetic black characters while having sympathetic female characters.

the interview was actually about tv being racist, but used mad men as an example.

I'm looking at the sum of the parts, if that makes sense. Believability was ridiculous in season 2, but any show that starts its very first episode with the lead character killing a dog is not going for realism. It executed WHAT IT IS (ELITE hyperdrama, what Scandal dreams to be) exceptionally well, and anyone who says otherwise is just plain wrong (it's possible it's just out of your taste range, which is fine). Even the completely blind Academy got that. Based on what got nominated from the show, they clearly watched it, minus the Kate Mara Guest Actress EMMY nom.

Right now, it's in my top 10 for the year, but I don't know if it will stay there. It has a good shot.

Did you know that an actor's performance in a bad TV show can actually get nominated for EMMYs? Jeff Daniels inhabits Will McAvoy, and he is absolutely deserving of being there, even though that show is pretty damn awful overall. Did you know he actually won last year? Sit back and let that stew a minute.

Just to remind you how wrong your opinion is, she was nominated for an EMMY today. You're in a very distinct minority.

I also would have liked to have seen Brooklyn99 in there for best comedy, probably in place of Silicon Valley. it may well have been the bubble show that just missed it seeing as andre braugher got a nomination as supporting actor, so it was at least on the radar.
