Didn't really like Tyrant at all, but I'll give it one more episode since the "show" kind of starts there rather then the exposition filled pilot. I'm sure that'll be it for me.
There is a second season of Fargo coming. May be a completely new story like True Detective. But there will also be a big temptation to build on first season characters. No one knows at this point.
Taxi Brooklyn was decidedly meh. Wife didn't like it at all. Been a real upsurge the last few years in car chases - they were extremely rare on tv for a long time. Somebody must have figured out a way to film them much more cheaply?

This is correct however it hasn't been renewed yet.
Sonia Saraiya (AVClub) has great taste in TV and gave this show a B+. I was surprised by that and it was the only reason I watched it. She mentioned all of the obvious meh things it has in it, but still gave it that grade. I'd give a C'ish. I might watch 1 or 2 more, but that would be it. I don't see it getting even close to better.
I can't get over how bad the strategy is on Cutthroat Kitchen. The EV play is to gang up on one chef and knock him/her out. Last night, the first sabotage was forced to hold a phone to your ear during the cooking challenge. The 2nd was having to fold pizza boxes and stack them high enough to be your table before you start cooking. So the one guy wins the 1st sabotage and forces a competitor to use the phone. He again bids and wins on the pizza box sabotage. Does he nail the same guy and make it even harder for him? No, he gives it to the other chef to "even it out." He lucked out, the guy w/ the phone lost anyway. But it was a lot closer than it needed to be.
They also unnecessarily over bid on sabotages. Example: One chef has $5K left, the other has $12K left. Guy w/ $12K will bid $8K. It's so LOL bad.
Sons of Anarchy - I'm going through this show now on Netflix.
Liked Season 1.
Season 2 was probably even better, the Zobelle storyline and how that effected all the different gangs was pretty good.
Season 3 though, I'm starting to lose interest. Things seem to be slowing down and the characters are getting dumber, though somehow still not facing any repurcussions.
For those that are caught up to present episodes, would you say the show has trended downwards over time, or does it rebound back up in quality?
I'll be catching up on it later this week. I was decidedly underwhelmed by the Pilot. If you want some more Kathleen, watch season 2 of Bates Motel. She looked a lot better on that show than this one. I think you'd probably like Bates Motel, too.
