Any episode recs?

I actually liked million dollar money drop and the concept behind it. On what other game show do contestants have the top prize in front of them, only to watch it slip away? It is great that the game is played by a pair. I can't wait to see the first argument when one is right and the other wrong. It seems like the two couples last night were close and loved each other regardless. Some hostility between two teammates would make for good tv. I also like that the players are allowed to hedge their bets, although neither of the groups last night played correctly. With some tweaks in the presentation, I feel this could be an excellent game show.

"The Actor" from s1 is one of my favorite episodes of anything and imo head and shoulders above the rest of the show

i was pretty meh about the show and completely agree (wrt lots of hit and miss) but that episode is gold

+1. Unfunny, I have absolutely no reason to care about any of the characters in this at all so far, and I really really hate that guy from Worst Week

American Ninja Warrior

Patrick, just pathetic. Evan, nice gesture, but don't save the weakest link. The rope is still an obstacle. Feel bad for the guy in white. Wish they would have revealed all the times.

Those who watch Californication, there are pre-airs for 401 and 402.

Didn't see a thread for it, but I figure it's worth mentioning.

Ugh, decision time. Do I just quit now or do I give the new episodes a chance. The end of season three was so poor, but iirc the finale was kind of ok.

S1 >>>>>>>> S2, because they had to write new songs for S2 (and also why the quit making new episodes).

I cannot see ever giving up on the show, even in slow stretches there are gems.

Definitely one of the best episodes of the series. I think Blaine/Close is still my favorite.

Well I did watch them and nothing much has changed. It's still a mixed bag and while based on those two episodes the ratio of good stuff to bad stuff has improved significantly from the latter half of s03 there is still a lot of bad stuff and it seems inevitable that as the series goes forward and the plot moves in the obvious direction that the amount of bad stuff will increase while the amount of good stuff decreases. Having said that, as nyc999 pointed out there is still some good stuff which is good enough for me to stick around (with c. 99% of the good stuff coming from the Hank/Runkle interactions which have always been great).

Random: thought Rob Lowe's character was pretty awful and hope it's not a major part of the season.

I'm not the guy to ask, but man, I watched a little bit of Californication and found it insufferable. I hate all those whiny self-absorbed pricks. Showtime doesn't seem capable of making a show I like.

On another note, I just watched S1 of Better off Ted, and it's quite good. I tried it once before and it didn't take, but if you give it a chance and get into its rhythms it's really funny and sharp.

New AMC show starting in March, The Killing.

http://www.amctv.com/originals/the-killing/about/

AMC has begun production on the network’s next original series, The Killing. From writer, executive producer and series showrunner Veena Sud (Cold Case), The Killing is based on the wildly successful Danish television series Forbrydelsen and tells the story of the murder of a young girl in Seattle and the subsequent police investigation. Season one will consist of thirteen one-hour episodes and is slated to premiere in March 2011.

Also, shouldn't this thread be merged with the "Recommendations" thread? They both seem to be serving the same purpose atm.

Lol. The only UK to US conversion that worked which i can think of is The Office. And to do that they had to gut it of all its intelligence and turn it into a standard sitcom.

The first few seasons of Shameless in the UK was some of the best comedy I have ever watched on TV. Sadly once a few of the main characters starting leaving the show it became less entertaining and I stopped watching.

I'll watch the first episode of this just to see how bad it really is.

Has anyone seen My Strange Addiction? Last night there was a woman on who couldn't stop eating toilet paper. Yup. You have to see it to believe it. I think it was TLC.
