Yeah we really liked Lessons in Chemistry. A rare show my wife and I agree on.

The Keepers - about the murder of a nun, but turns into something much bigger. It’s extremely f*cked up and extremely good...if there is any man more evil than Joseph Maskell, I don’t know

Murder Mountain - good doc about our weed capital, Humboldt County, California. You have to put up with a large # of idiots in this one, but I liked it. You get a good insight into the weed industry out there, both past and present

Amanda Knox - I was living abroad when this went down IRL so it was all pretty much new to me

The Seven Five - about the 75th precinct in NYC, crazy ass story about some (one in particular) crazy ass crooked cops in the 80’s

was trying to find this thread. thought it was it's own thread but I guess just a post in here. things I've watched since:

Till Murder Do Us Part: Soering vs. Haysom (2023) - this was good

Golden State Killer: It's Not Over - wasn't a huge fan of this one. very repetitive. it could've been 2 episodes. interesting story nonetheless

Murders at Starved Rock - this was good. only 3 eps.

When They See Us - central park 5 kids. watched it a few years ago but remember liking it.

what brought me to bring this up is new HBO show Murder in Boston: Roots, Rampage & Reckoning sounds interesting. I haven't started it yet. Might do so once it's fully released.

On October 23, 1989, Charles “Chuck” Stuart places a frantic 911 call reporting that he and his pregnant wife, Carol, a white couple, have been shot by a Black man in Boston’s Mission Hill neighborhood. The ensuing investigation proves to be a lightning rod for the city, igniting decades-old racial tensions and brutal targeting amidst a media firestorm.

Watched at 1.5 speed but Squid Games was well done for 9 episodes. The final episode was garbage but it’s hard to end things. Heck of an undertaking and they nearly nailed it. 450 contestants under one roof. It looked exactly like the original show aesthetically. Impressed with what they put together.

Not to mention the largest winning jackpot of 4.5 million $$$$.

I wanted to watch 1 episode a night to stretch things out but the cliff hangers and editing made the first 9 episodes only last about 3 days.

I would recommend it to anyone that is a big fan of the original series. Oh and lol at all the protests over the show glorifying mass shootings/murder.

Murder on a Sunday Morning is a 2001 documentary that is right up your alley if you haven't seen it already.

honestly the show was garbage on paper but i was still hooked and enjoying it(and i have no idea why).

It's just people i extremely dislike glorified for being fake ass cucks to eachother in a "competition' that ended up having no physical competition, just random people chosing who goes on while still telling us that they're doing amazing and that people should watch out for them because they are 'sleepers' that shouldnt be underestimated(at what? getting chosen by other people??).

i saw the winner was never paid yet, and it's been a while since the show wrapped.

Right, the contract said the winner got paid after the finale aired. I assume they've been paid at this point.

I thought there was going to be some mechanism to potentially chop the pot at some point.

It would chop super early in all likelihood and the climax of the show would be ruined.

I wish there were rewards like “Walk out now for $10,000 or any interesting decisions

This is pretty standard for game shows. When I was on WWTBAM, we taped in late August. the episode aired in late December, The check came in early January. Players are fully advised beforehand.

I loved the show. It was both funny and touching and the mark is an incredible human by all accounts. I can’t imagine how I would look if every word that came out of my mouth over two weeks was put on camera

First ep was good. Was basically a racial history of Boston rather than a murder doc. Guessing story will move forward in ep 2. Was really interesting to learn about.

First episode was pretty accurate. I was living and working in Boston at the time, and it matches my memory of events.

The racial history provides the backdrop for the murder case. I have a very specific opinion about the outcome of the case, but I'll hold off until I see how the show depicts what I recall.

It was big news at the time. Daily discussion of the case on local news and talk shows.

Murder in Boston: Roots, Rampage & Reckoning was really well done, although this all went down while I was living in Massachusetts, so I might have a bit of bias. I was particularly amazed at how many relevant people were tracked down considering the time that's elapsed.

totally agree that secular republics have done horrendous things like genocide, nuclear war, torture, etc.. .and when there is media portraying the villains of secular republics in a sympathetic light, those need to be criticized too

I see now why you angry that a tv show humanizes the humans.
are you saying genocide and racism are ok if it's 1943 and everyone is short on everything, and no guarantee of victory?

cuz i can think of another example of genocide and racism in 1943

you can say the exact same thing about hitler, or any villain. but when media lionizes villains(like the royals), and vast numbers of people refuse to see any villainy, that's a problem

i mean these people's ancestors told everyone that god chose them to be the rulers! so because of that everyone has to bow to them lol.. literally bow down to them! while they live in castles, and it's a huge sacrifice for them lol!

First 4 eps of Reacher s2 are out. It’s stupid mindless entertainment but it’s awesome. Annoyed the whole season wasn’t released at the same time.

Australia is really killing it with the 30 minutes single-cams for the last few years. Class of ‘07 is in my favorites for this year and quite a few others were just fantastic watches.

So far Somebody Somewhere delivers. Living up to the very high rating.

That very real middle America vibe is extremely authentic.
