6 episodes into The Old Man and I absolutely love it...very literary...I get the feeling I'd enjoy the book quite a lot.

Been doing an international tv tour recently. Here's some of my favourites:

Fauda - Israeli drama about an elite commando unit working undercover in Palestine. Reminded me of The Shield, maybe just because the lead looks like Michael Chiklis...Very brutal, not for the fainthearted.

Oh Hell - German comedy about a dysfunctional, self sabotaging, woman in her 20's. Very similar vibes to Fleabag. I'm surprised the ratings I've seen for this are pretty mediocre, I thought it was great.

Sacred Games - V.good Indian crime drama. Complete opposite of Bollywood cheesiness. A Mumbai cop is given 25 days to save the city.

La Valla (The Barrier) - Spanish drama set in a dystopian future after WWIII, where there is a split between the rich and the poor, and a disease ravages the population, and the city is ruled by a fascist regime.

Beforeigners - Norwegian show. Not too far into this, but really liking it so far. Cavemen, Vikings, and people from the 1800's, start appearing in the present.

I've done a bunch of other countries, but my brain's mush (probably from watching too much tv!) so I can't remember them right now.

To add to that list, Class of ‘07 (not Class Of ‘09) was really good. Sort of AustrailianYellowjackets-ish but more comedy and much less cannibalism lol

Cool not heard of that. I’m trying to go for less well known stuff. Everyone’s probably heard of stuff like Gomarrah or Le Bureau.

Vis a vis (Locked Up) Spanish prison drama. It’s Orange is the new black, but in yellow.

I'll add Into the Night (Belgium)

Apocalyptic SciFi - A bunch of strangers from a variety of places thrown together on an airplane trying to avoid sunrise (premise: The Sun rises - you all die).

Two 6 episode seasons so far/ 35 minute episodes. Very good.

Just dawned on me a bunch of you are too young to have seen Little Britain.

holds up

Meh could never do Little Britain. Didn’t find the sketches particularly funny, and by the 50th time they’d repeated the exact same joke, I just wanted to shoot myself.

I did like Come Fly With Me they did. Shame it got cancelled for supposedly being racist.

Knocked this one out in 2 days and really liked it a lot. Took a bit to get used to it but well worth it.

Just finished the second season of Beforeigners. When I first started the show I thought it might be more police drama, with the weird time stuff being a quirky backdrop, but oh no, **** gets real weird, and, as a massive time travel nerd, I loved it!

Also had a surprise appearance from one of my favourite actors, Paul Kaye, who I'd of never had guessed would be popping up on a Norwegian sci-fi show.

Really hope it gets a third season.

Perfect description of the episode from Esquire:

“Fishes" is what happens when you take a group of performers that would typically only convene, in front of a camera, at something like The Hollywood Reporter's Actors Roundtable, and ask them all to attempt to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in one fell swoop.
