Anyone watch From? Interesting premise with lazy-ass writing. Have watched 3 episodes and I'm debating whether or not it's worth continuing.

Silo was looking great through the first 2 episodes, but it's gotten really convoluted.

Is indeed fantastic. Thanks for pointing that one out.

I like these types of shows, but they never figure out how to end them and I always end up pissed off.

ok episode 1 was very decent. 3 very minor cheesy moments because I'm a nit. But I'm definitely down to see this play out.

Pretty big fan of those multilanguage shows as a bonus.

Agree, gave up on it.

There are so many of these streaming shows with big name stars and huge budgets, but still end up being mediocre. Makes you realize how hard it is to make a truly great show.

Also feels like all the competing services are just greenlighting basically everything to see what sticks, hoping to catch lightning in a bottle.

Of the newer streaming shows I'd say Severance is the only one that reaches top tier level for me. But even that doesn't have broad enough appeal to drive people to Apple TV.

Watched the first episode of Drops Of God, thanks to this thread.

So up my alley. Loved every second. So good.

Again, I'm biased having read the books, but I'm still pumped about Silo.

Also having casually followed along from the author's blog, the path to greenlight + production took many, many years.

I surely doubt that it will reach Severance quality, but recall that people were complaining about the middle episodes of that show too.

Didn't love the first episode of Drops of God, but it keeps improving (at least through 4 eps). Thoroughly enjoying it.

Drops of God was well worth the binge, but (last episode spoiler)

Spoiler:
That ending left me with a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. Obviously that's what was going to happen, but the execution of that with the little montage pissed me off. Glad I watched it, don't see it being one I watch again. How quick did you guys spot the twist btw?

The wife and I finally got around to watching The Outlaws on Amazon. We both are fans of Stephen Merchant, and he's great; but the show itself was a bit uneven, bouncing too much between being for laughs and not. There were also some side plots or characters that I liked and wanted to see more, but didn't, and others that I felt had too much focus. All that having been said, I don't regret watching it and it's easy to binge.

Burden of Proof on Max was pretty good. This is a 4 part series about a guy trying to figure out what happened to his sister who disappeared in 1987. It's like a 4 hour episode of Cold Case Files.

The Age of Influence on Hulu, also pretty good. This is about social media and scam artists. Saw the first two episodes and it's just like American Greed but without the guy narrating. Will keep watching.

The Other Two on Max is back for another season. If you like Search Party, this is kind of similar. It's far from amazing, but I'd say it's pretty funny sometimes and worth getting into. There are a few seasons of this one.

Ghosts of Beirut on Showtime, true story about finding an elusive terrorist. Some talking head doc footage combined with acting. It's good, only 4 episodes.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is pretty decent. It's pretty campy and a little formulaic but it's not taking itself too seriously and it's fun.

I never watched past the second season of Discovery but maybe it's worth going back to. Maybe I'll throw Picard in the mix too.

It’s one of the better single-cam sitcoms to come out in quite awhile. Not everything works but I like that they aim for those. The rest of it is really great though. It has some of the absurdity that Atlanta used occasionally but they’re not necessarily trying to make a statement when they do those moments. And when they do aim to say something, they do it pretty well

As someone who really enjoyed the Hugh Howey books [B]Silo[B] is based on, the series has been a disappointment so far.

Spoiler:
I don’t understand some of the choices. Why invent so much new/different lore? Juliette was outside the silo before book one was half way through. I dig the setting, but the story feels way too complicated and confined. I guess they’re shooting for some sort of multi season reveal, but I fear they may never get the chance.

I finished Drops of Gold. I think the settings, cinematography, and music kept my interest but it was more about watching a train wreck. If ever a show is set for a farce this is it. The wine descriptions are over the top ridiculous (sensing 13 types of grapes...etc, ) and the characters flip stances more randomly than a coin. I laughed when someone said Issei looks just like his father. Lol, fun to watch farce.

The Idol is pretty weird and just kinda bad through two episodes. I'm a massive dog to make it through season 1 without quitting it at this point, but I do try to give every series half a season to start getting good.

I do as well, especially HBO but I can’t do it with that show. Everything about it bothers me far more than it should and watching it would put me over the edge lol

I’m just glad it’s as bad or worse than I thought it would be. There was a chance that even with all the BS prior to air, it could’ve actually been good.
