caught up through s1e4 of The Old Man
powerful characters superbly acted
the next episode was directed by Zetna Fuentes...we'll have to see how that works out
previous two were by Greg Yaitanes, the final two of the season were by Jet Wilkinson

Very excited for this! Watching the trailer, looks like he's just doing a Nathan For You bit, just multiple times, which is absolutely not a bad thing at all.

Never heard of that guy or his previous work but the 'Sneak Peek' for it on HBO Max did not get me interested at all.

that makes sense if you're not familiar with him. his stuff is pretty genius, but not obvious just from watching the sneak peek.

if you're interested, check out some "nathan for you" clips on youtube.

his stuff is not for everyone though. it's pretty weird.

some of it is so cringe, it's hard to watch, and not pleasant imo. but some of his stuff is just brilliant

Surprised how good Evil is. I didn't expect much. It takes until maybe S1E5 or to really ramp up to full spookiness. Its all-around well done and surprisingly scary. It integrates sound effects and background music into storylines really well. I'm into midseason 2 and still going well. Three experts with different backgrounds are hired as a team to debunk claims of supernatural events, usually demonic possession.

+1 The Bear (FX/HULU) 8 episode limited series with short episodes which an easy format to watch. Fast snappy intense dialogue, great variety characters, great acting. All in rarely seen insight into inner city Chicago-style dialogue and mannerisms and subculture. The Richard "Richie" Jerimovich character is insanely done. You'll want to punch him in the mouth. You'll never want to be in the business. I would title it different, maybe "Chicago Beef." Very good but nerve-wracking.

Finished Russian Doll 2. I thought it was all right. The first series was more fun, I thought there was more mystery and narrative to it. But I imagine COVID impacted this and it was watchable. They seem to have thrown all pretense of plot out the window. I’d watch more

Damn the Bear looks good. But while looking it up on IMDB, it recommended two more shows to me:

The Offer and Dark Winds. Both with stellar reviews. Adding to the list!

I liked S2, but I don't like S3 episode 1, for a thing happening so I haven't kept going yet.

I'm gonna put this in here because I don't want to go into the BCS thread and read spoilers, I've seen the first 5 seasons of BCS and now want to watch the 6th, so what do I do? I get AMC+ because I'd assume the only reason the thing ****ing exists is so people like me can binge watch Better Call Saul, now I don't see any of the season 6 episodes available besides last Monday's episode? LOL are you kidding me?

So how do I watch this show? Just pay like 2 bucks an ep on Amazon or something?

I mean I guess I could go back to my old mad dog rip and running ways and just steal it like I do to all combat sporting events, if they're leaving me no choice.

Best option seems to be amazon prime $25 bucks for the whole season? $25 bucks for one show? lol

bcs thread is all spoilers without putting in spoiler brackets - wise move to avoid

while living in asia i was often geoblocked out for stuff so couldn't do things the official way ever, so learned to use grey areas

top one is a little sketch with popups but reliable, second one is 2nd to none but requires learning how torrents work (super easy takes 2 min i like vuze)

stream
torrents
Spoiler:

Or you get something that has regular AMC channel, like Youtube TV or Philo. Philo has a 7 day trial and a dvr and is cheaper. I have not used either since I don't need them. I would check out the free trial and make sure it has all the episodes from this latest season. I don't know if it does.

yeah I used to be big into the torrent game, then got a new laptop and figured screw it with streaming apps ill just pay for the apps. kinda got sick of getting written notices from my ISP/cable company (even tho they didnt seem to really care)

like you get hbomax, you can watch succession, there isn't some weird thing you get a show on the channel and cant watch it lol....AMC+ wtf, I don't get it

ill try this bootleg thing, if the popups are too annoying ill pony the $ i guess

if AMC+ doesn't have all of them for 1 single streaming price, I doubt anything else does

no big deal obviously, but clearly shows A. the streaming wars are starting to cannibalize a lot of these properties and they're getting stingy and B. AMC+ not having an AMC show in its entirety is pretty absurd

eztv is a curated feed, no guessing which ones are good quality and which are viruses, just pure goodness and when there are options it's to choose which quality video you prefer, it's amazing

so no virus issues with the streaming 1 right? just obviously a million popups but popup blocker can handle that
