lol.

If you watch any more it'll be interesting to see your reaction after the conclusion of season 4.

Just read that Flight of the Conchords isn't coming back for a third season. Yeah yeah last year called and they want their news back. Pretty devastated by this.

Has there been any sci fi shows of the last decade that are good, didnt get a crappy finish and were relatively less known?

I need a new show to watch, right now Andomeda is winning since i saw a couple eps ages ago and thought it had potential but then lost touch with it but im happy to take recommendations if anyone has any.

I could never work out if i liked Conchords or not. It had some really really awesome eps (the one about the Aussie chick was amazing) but then it had a lot of miss to it as well imo.

eureka is pretty fun, prob know about that one tho.

edit. I've heard lots of good things about Stargate Universe, both from Stargate fans and people that didn't really like the first couple series.

Got Firefly on DVD (love it), been watching SGU (dont, also it just got cancelled btw) and Eureka i stopped watching this season, it got terrible when they went back in time.

Oooooooh, ive not seen Farscape since it was first on TV, that has to top the list so far.

I'm a star trek fan and pretty forgiving for a concept I like, so I wouldn't exactly call this an objective recommendation but... I really enjoyed Enterprise. The theme song is god awful, tho!

It's also the first star trek series that's been cancelled.

edit. A lot of people liked Torchwood a lot, too. I enjoyed it overall but wasn't a huge fan.

Monk was good. I watched all 8 seasons. The final season wasn't the best, but all the loose ends actually get tied up, so that is nice.

I agree, season 7 is really strong. Can't wait for the Christmas special/behind the scenes and interview with the writers on crimbo eve!

I watched a couple of eps from S3 over the weekend. Just terrible. It's like whoever runs the show just totally misunderstood what made the first season good.

Season 1 >> Season 2

The concept of the show made it really hard or them to do a third season.

The songs which they used in season 1 were really funny because they had been working on them for years and years, season 2 suffered because the material just wasn't as funny.

Still FOTC though.

Will be watching Terriers as soon as i have some time...

OMG Million Dollar Money Drop must be the nut low game show in this entire generation of new wave dramatic prime time game shows. I think it's impossible for any network game show to ever get worse than this, and I remember shows like John McEnroe's The Chair and that lie detector one Moment of Truth.

I can't even explain how terrible it is. Not just from a strategy perspective (every opponent seems to know virtually nothing about EV or probability) but on sheer format. It's a slow-paced exercise in drooling ******ation and I can't imagine anyone with a tenth of a brain would ever focus their full attention on it. I sure didn't. (A mixture of working online and fast-forwarding it).

Currently a few eps into Farscape. Recognising very little of it so far, which proves just how overdue i was for rewatching it.

Not sure where to go afterwards. I might go back to BSG to rewatch the mini series and first couple of seasons, pretend it had an awesome ending, then i can hate the new spinoff series and movie next year. My friend also has all of Stargate Atlantis that ill give a spin at some point too.

I watched some of Lexx, it was pretty good in a b-movie kinda way and made up for the lack of funding by having a sex joke every 2 minutes. IIRC when i last saw it the robot head was gay for the dead assassin and the half lizard hot chick also loved the dead assassin and the robot head and the half lizard hot chick used to have a stalker/stalkee relationship when i first started watching it and the commander/janitor guy wasnt getting any from anyone.

Enterprise is on the list somewhere, but it constantly gets bumped by the fact there are three other Treks ill watch again at some point (TNG, DS9 and Voyager ldo). All four are on TV every so often and when i catch an ep i never think "i really need to go watch all of this show" which doesnt help their case. Its also the first Trek i stopped caring about and just stopped watching, it just didnt click for me.

Fwiw the theme was pretty good, it just wasnt a Trek theme. They failed rght from the start there, and then they proceeded to monstrously fail with the ending which even the Vulcan chick called an abomination and an undeserving ending to a show that the cast loved even if the writers, network and most Trek fans didnt.

I only read about it, but it just sounded so ridiculously ******ed that it put me off the show just cos i never like to end shows on disappointing notes.

I caught maybe 15 mins total during commercials in the football game. Twas indeed ******ed. Poor Todd Hockney.

That said, I don't think anything can hold a candle to that Moment of Truth show.

Money Drop is a low for TV gameshows, Moment of Truth was a low for western civilization.

anyone watch perfect couples pilot yet? Is it as much of a modern family ripoff as it looks?

Heh I'm rewatching BSG with my gf who hasn't seen it and its nowhere near as good as I remembered when I watched it live 5-6 years ago or whatever. We're halfway through s2 and I'm definitely dropping out after the beginning of s3 which was by far the high point of the series.

I'm probably the only one hoping for a 'Life After' show. I could see E or Lifetime following the losers. One person never forgives the other for knowing it was right and losing $xxx, xxx. Leading to drug abuse and other problems in the household.

While it's a good show, there's nothing about Modern Family that's original enough that anything can be correctly accused of ripping it off.

From what I've read/heard of Perfect Couples, it seems like it's just a very standard sitcom.

Eh, I was entertained by Money Drop, but mostly because of the players' idiocy. The Sparklers answer was well thought out by that guy, and clearly the correct answer. I was hoping his bitch of a wife would stick to her guns and lose them a bunch of money on bottle rockets. Putting all of your money on password was just LOL bad since they had no reasoning whatsoever other than a hunch.

Loved that first couple. Go with Inventions, because "I know a few inventors."

The worst was when they had 580k on C, 420k on A, and 0 on B. Only one of those answers is right, so they should be rooting for C to be right, and A&B to drop. But when A dropped, they got all sad and freaked out. Such bullsh*t.

I'm loving Iconoclasts on Sundance. Don't know how recent/old any of these episodes are, but some of my favorites so far are Clive Davis/Bill Maher, Paul Simon/Lorne Michaels, Ron Howard/Steve Nash, Tony Hawk/Jon Favreau, Sean Penn/Jon Krakeuer and David Blaine/Chuck Close.

Any episode recs?
