not sure did you comment just to see your own words on your screen or what.
Sounds like you haven't watched the trailer for the new Bond film.

As for the earlier example about a Chinese Tonto, didn't Johnny Depp play him a few years ago?

As for Bond - i do not think a black guy should ever be "bond", the same way i don't think a white guy should ever be "Shaft" while Idris is a good actor i think changing a characters race just to suit equal ops is a silly.

What about a woman bond 007 is that ok ?

or a remake of the lone ranger and make tonto Chinese ?
I'm not shilling for Idris for equal ops, I genuinely like his screen presence and acting and don't give two shitz about patronizing people because of skin color, he's simply got "it" imo

If the story & acting is good, I dont care what color or gender Bond is, its all absurd make believe so I dont take it that serious, ymmv.

Do you realize that "James Bond" is/could be a code name just as much as "007" is a designation?
As no one is supposed to know a 00's actual name, don't think they go around announcing it to every girl in a skirt. (or swimsuit)

Truer words might never have been spoken. I remember when nutbags didn't have online echo chambers to not only reinforce what they feel is correct, but to double down and take it to the extreme. Were it not for the advances in medicine, I'd snap go back in time 50 years to live my life in lieu of dealing with what we're enduring today.

Choice is to live in 2021 or live in 1961? Damn not close for me as a Canadian (no nam draft). Going to enjoy 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's.

Far worse TV, far better movies, far better just about everything else. I think I pegged peak human life right around late 90's. But artistically godamn I'd love to be a young adult in the 70's. Sign me right up.

I think I watch 3 NBC shows. Two of them were just cancelled.

Manifest
Debris (recorded but never watched)

I quit on Manifest midway through s2. I quit Debris after 3 episodes, labeling it terrible on the level of The Event.

IMO, NBC wouldn't know good science fiction if it bit them in the a$$.

This the network that bought SyFy and immediately canceled Caprica midway through the first season.

And I've watched some mediocre SciFi series' like Falling Skies through to the end.

I watched Falling Skies and Heros to the goddamn miserable end. I remember at the end of each season hoping they didn't get renewed.

Prison break probably also entered this loop.

I need to stop this. I'm happy I didn't start debris. But I knew that it would likely get canceled.

Prison Break S1 was awesome. Super hot chick I was dating said she would bang Wentworth in a heartbeat, I said I understand.

Anyways back to my Banshee liveblog for the night.

The Event: Just a ridiculous mess from the start that got worse every episode

Flash Forward: Interesting concept that just went off the rails after 2 or 3 episodes.

Terra Nova: Another interesting concept that was just painfully boring from the get go.

I liked Terra Nova but it happened back before all the streaming wars diluted all the writing talent available.

Today, almost everything is awful because almost all the writing is awful, in my opinion.
