I just binged all 50 episodes of The Bureau in ~3 weeks. Haven't binged anything this hard in ages, what a fantastic ride that was. If I had to make a list, that'd be pretty close to making my top 20 shows of the 2000s.
Comments regarding the final two eps, HEAVY SPOILERS so do not read if you intend to watch this show:
Spoiler:
So the guy who was in charge for the first 48 eps just randomly quit and let some random dude direct the final two eps? Wtf? The stylistic change was way too big for my liking, even though I get the idea (?) of clearly making the end a montage type of thing.
I didn't mind the ending, I thought the dream sequence with all the people who'd died because of him was good, and Nadia appearing there was chilling. Although I think it could've been done much better: They shouldn't have shown Nadia getting killed, but instead just have her appear there after all the subtle hints we were given that it wouldn't end well and let the viewer do the math on their own. It would've been an epic gut punch. In a show that left a lot for the viewer to figure out on their own, it would've been the perfect way to end it.
I also don't think it made a whole lot of sense for Karlov to revenge by getting Nadia killed -- surely his own family is now in danger, the French government obv know their new IDs and the whole reason he played along with the French and then killed himself was exactly to protect his family. Him figuring out some smart way to get Guillaume/Pavel killed I could buy, but killing a Russian ~ally (the Russians and Syrians are friendly, and Nadia was getting pretty high-profile, so I'd assume having her killed would cause further trouble for the Russians) for personal revenge even though it puts your family at risk I just don't buy it all. Surely he would've chosen something that would've actually aided mother Russia and hurt the DSGE, or if he really wanted personal revenge vs. Guillaume, he would've just gotten him killed instead. Going after Nadia felt out of character and it's just not credible that out of all the things he'd live secret notes about in the bookshelf of that airbnb he'd choose to go like yo mr spy, go off that Guillaume bastard's gf, that'll teach him!!11.
I assume there's no hope of a season 6? Because I'd really like to see (SPOILERS AGAIN)
Spoiler:
Guillaume on a revenge rampage
Overall I thought seasons 2-3 were absolutely gripping five-star stuff, S1 was a little slow but excellent, and seasons 4-5 were slightly weaker but still very good TV.

I consider it the top 5 of all TV series I've ever seen. It was incredibly intense in a realistic way. It even shows the Russians flooding US media to try and change election results and public opinion. I'm still a little paranoid from watching it. Malotru was such a sharp-witted agent he was always a step ahead of even his own French bureau. Marina seemed so sweet, meek ,and petite but she agreed to go deep undercover into the dangerous Iran nuclear program and then into Russia's elite cyber attack unit.
I decided to just ignore the final two episodes because the genius Éric Rochant, who created the rest of the show, would not have ended it that way, for sure. From what I read Rochant was just exhausted from doing the series at that point, and I doubt he will do more of it.
Just seems like a really weird choice to sign off after 48 episodes of a 50-episode show.
Like sure, if you want to move onto something else after 3 seasons, that's cool. But how do you devote five years of your life to a career breakout show that's beloved by both critics and audiences, and then just randomly decide you're over it when it's time to film the double-episode finale? And apparently give all creative control to someone else? I don't know about you, but if I'd created something this great and I was already 48 episodes through, I can't think of anything that could possibly stop me from finishing the show.
Ugh, I really hate to hear that. Probably my favorite book of all time. No way it can be as horrible as The Dark Tower movie though, right?
I am not a huge king fan but I love the stand and am currently listening to it on audible for the 3rd time in addition to having read it manually once.
I have never seen the dark tower movies so can't comment on that but I was so excited for this mini series and its just a massive massive disappointment.
What did you think of the original 1994 mini-series?
As a non-reader, I thought the 1994 series started very strong but kept getting weaker and was "just okay" by the end.
I never watched it.
I didn't read the book for the 1st time till 1996 and back then when u missed something u missed it and now that I could watch it if I wanted I never bothered as everything I heard about it made me not think it was worth watching.
however I did watch the 1st episode of the 94 version the other day simply to see how it compared to the new version and it was funny how some of the shots were basically identical such as when stu comforts a dying campion at the gas station.

I actually am enjoying it, as someone who is a huge King fan.
Nowhere near the letdown of The Dark Tower movie. Not even close. Episode 2 was a bit slow, but it wasnt bad. I like the way they are treating the timeline in the movie. It's a hard story to tell linearly.
You guys are big King fans. Have you seen Mr. Mercedes? It's pretty good. A bit of a slow burn but it gets going. About a killer taunting a retired detective.
1st 2 seasons are on Peacock and I got the 3rd from the library and working on it now.
Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip
Gordon Ramsay (everyone knows him), Gino D'Acampo (Italian celebrity chef), and Fred Sirieix (French maître d'hôtel/TV host) go road tripping. Similar to The Grand Tour, but less cars and more food.
Anyone watching Your Honor? I was pretty pissed how they boxed Kofi into a corner with their writing. By far the most interesting storyline for me. Still invested but damn.

Sure do a great job making most of the characters unlikeable. Has some slow times but overall pretty good
Who caught American Gods season 2? I really liked the first season but didn’t get around to the 2nd. The 3rd is around the corner and I’m not sure if it’s worth it...
Of course, it's the origin story of Alfred from Batman, but set in some alternate universe where fascists have pretty much taken control of England around WW 2 time.
I'm on the fence. It's kind of slow. Too many characters/threads to follow for my liking, but it seems quite well acted and written.
Of course, Alfred is a badass in his youth, so those parts are pretty good.

I saw it when it first aired, I think I liked it but I don't really remember, I will watch S3 so I couldn't have hated it. I think the Leprechaun had more screen time and I enjoyed those.
