Freddie Prinze "Chico and the Man" I remember that show.

Jimmy JJ Walker, about 7 years ago I stayed at Riviera in LV and they give you 2 free tickets to the comedy show and it was Jimmy Walker so I had to go check out Dynomite, he was pretty good.

Anyway its a good doc so far.
I'm loving the show and am bummed I cant binge it

the story around this is crazy:

Spoiler:
Freddy Prinz wanted to kill Travolta because he was cutting into his fame and went to Travoltas apartment with a hunting bow with Jimmy Walker, fortunately Travolta wasn't home so he shot 3 arrows into his door instead

Yea, also, even tho I remember watching Chico and the man, I didn't remember what happened to Freddie Prinze. I guess I didn't pay attention to news back then.

Soulmates- New anthology on AMC from the writer of Black Mirror and Stranger Things, Sarah Snook(Shiv) was in the 1st. I think Wags is in the 2nd episode. Seems pretty average but I will stick with it as I usually like most everything on AMC.

so after many years of being tempted i watched the wire

I attempted to watch it maybe 2 yrs ago after family friends forums all highly rate it , and cos sopranos is my #1 all time people were saying if u liked that u will like this.

Anyways decided to watch it again like 2 weeks ago, first couple series i was like yeah not bad. Then i just lost interest in series 3 and series 4 was meh so stopped 3 episodes in to s4.

Anyone else feel that way with the The Wire ? or is it a "me thing" lol

Kinda feel i let myself down for not liking it strange feeling ha

Season 4 is the best season. I would continue watching.

Season 4 is possibly the consensus best season of TV ever created, but nothing out there is liked by absolutely everyone, so no need to feel bad about it or anything.

Just surprised you made it that far without really liking it though.

Everything about this sounds great except the part where you say it's pretty average

no one bored of the wire in s3 is going to think s4 is the best season of tv ever...in fact they will probably think it's worse than anything that came before it

yeah 1 season of the wire is more than enough to know if you like it or not. give it up

i loved the wire the first time through. i tried to rewatch it and was too bored.

I've started The Wire thrice and never made it to end of the first season. I'm going to give it one more try at some point, last time was long time ago.

I think i will finish s4 and s5 of the wire just to see does it have an effect on my opinion.

Plus not much else on TV currently so something to watch

its strange for me tho that some family members and friends who have very similar TV likings to me have really blown the wire up, saying its #1/#2 with the sopranos. And cos i really can't connect to the programme at all its just a odd feeling ha.

after trying to watch Justified and not being able to get past the first 4 or 5 episodes a couple times over the last few years I finally pushed through and finished the series. Elite show and I finally see what the hype has been about in this forum especially over the years.

I'm in that same boat with trying to push through the first part of season 1.

I still haven't watched it, but I remember the consensus being that Justified doesn't hit its stride until ~episode 9 of season one. Season 2 on are elite

That's about right. The first half of season 1 was too much like a formulaic ABC cop show my parents would watch. Season 2 on was great.

Thought s1 of Justified was pretty lame and procedural, enjoyed it a lot after that

The Wire loses an unfortunately number of people in the first 4 episodes since it doesn't pull you in, but this is the first I've heard of someone losing interest in S3 and S4!

Yeah, I just found like an Omar compilation on YouTube and that was enough for me.

Wild Card: The Downfall of a Radio Loudmouth On HBO tonight.

I never knew of the person or the radio show he did with Boomer Esiason, he had a crazy addiction to Blackjack sort of like Owning Mahowny and an illegal ticket business. Great doc, gets good at 25 minutes in when they start the gambling talk.

Guess im the only one that thought season 1 was very good (but the worst season for sure). Season 2 is the best season of any show in my opinion.

I thought S1 was a lot better on rewatch than the first time round.

Yep, I think the pilot of Justified might be one of the worst pilots ever produced. No idea how it went on to become what it did, but the pilot turned me off for 7 years.

There's plenty explained in the pilot. Not sure why you'd skip it.
