Any Bordertown watchers here? I'm into it, it's intriguing, etc but I find myself shaking my head at times. I think it's pretty good, but def not great.

I thought season 1 was decent, but it sort of slipped my mind after that. I'll probably pick it up again.

I’ve watched two episodes of Zoey and I’m struggling. It has that cheesy network TV feel to it and I’m not sure Levy is right for this. I’ll give it another episode or two.

Watched Zoey's pilot on Dominic's recommendation. So far, not doing it for me. I think I'm too literal for this.

Not sure what I should spoil, so I'll be cautious:

Spoiler:

I think it would be better if the singing was just a few lines. Seems like often they were doing a whole song, when the point was gotten across much earlier.

Also, the dance parts didn't make sense. Should be more like she's gained this insight into what people are thinking, which wouldn't affect their actions.

Lauren Graham doesn't seem like a great choice for the tough boss person.

But, I think those are small things. I'll give it another episode or two, see if it clicks.

Plus some of the pseudo-technical stuff got to me.

Nerd alert.

Spoiler:
Checking the communication between devices would be the first step of debugging. If it takes three days to figure that out, the design is pretty flawed. Also nobody would initialize the ints for systolic & diastolic to 20 and 50 or whatever. They'd be zero, and the error would be even more immediately obvious. Or, your app would call 911 automatically for you.

fwiw I may have stopped Zoey if my wife wasn't a big fan. She loves it. It's good enough for me to watch, but not my typical kind of show. I enjoyed it more and more as the eps went on.

Spoiler:
the funeral home ep was terrible

Alone season 7 just begun. It's my favorite reality series, where 10 contestants go to really isolated place and try to survive. They have some collection of items with them, like a flint rod for making fire, some kind of tarp for the camp, fishing / hunting stuff etc. and they're carrying their own cameras and batteries, so no filming staff.

They can be taken out for medical reasons if you lose too much weight or are otherwise sick, or they can tap out with satphone when they need/want to.

First 6 seasons the last one standing got $500k, which is emotionally though - when you're thinking of tapping out, you can't really know if you're in the last two and other guy is struggling, or if there's a few crazy guys left and you're basically drawing dead and suffering from hunger/cold/loneliness for nothing. Newest season has $500k for last man standing and $1M for people who can stay 100 days, so interesting to see how it will affect emotions and strategies.

First episode was solid, sadly an episode per week.

Thanks for the reminder about this show. My sister was telling me about it last year and I promptly forgot about it as soon as I returned home. They live in Idaho, right on the Canada border and I think they are good friends with one of the past contestants.

So i'm into the 5th season of Parks & Rec, and I like it. It's amusing. But the character of Leslie just doesn't do it for me. I don't find her funny. And Ben is boring. I know they replaced the one guy in season 2 who was boring with Ben, but Ben isn't really any better.

All the other characters are great. That's the problem with some shows - the supporting characters are just better than the lead ones.

Zoey renewed for season 2!

And for those of you who have watched it based on my rec, I understand not liking it...I really shouldn't like it either lol, but for some reason, it just clicks for me.

Leslie is the glue.

Like Jerry in Seinfeld.

I quit in the middle of S3. Started watching for the first time in quarantine but didn't love it so dropped out. I know there was so much hype over the show when it was current but much of what I've read/heard recently seems to be at least partially negative. Was the whole infatuation a collection delusion? Or do most people still view it as a great show?

Cool website, Thanks.

Where do all the votes come from? I don't see how to vote.

It's probably IMDb or rotten tomato scores

No, I compared some to IMDB, not the same and Rotten uses %, which you could convert to 8.2 etc. but it doesn't give total votes like this site does.

rake aussie version. just finished it. what a fun show!! highly recommend. and this is the right crowd for it.

the later seasons do get a bit absurd, but i didn't mind.

i know my tastes are bizarre and all over the place. but i know the difference between a show *i* like, and a show others will like. rake is a show others will like. probably ~90% of you will like it

Is Rake a bunch of one off episodes or does the case span the series so each ep builds off each other?

You're the 2nd or 3rd person in this thread who's stated that they hated that episode, which I find surprising since it was my favorite one of the series. And that's not just my opinion; using the ratings site that REDeYeS provided demonstrates that the final episode was by far the highest-rated/most-liked episode of the year (9.6/10)

it def builds off each other, but in the early seasons the court case parts of the show are mostly one offs. like the sam neil character is only on one episode, and same with hugo weaving, but the lead has degenerate story lines that are through the whole series... gambling, prostitutes, various other degeneracy, etc
