yea, Taken is cool. The time jumps are really unique. I can't think of another show where every episode is like 10 years later. Really tight storytelling to be able imply the important stuff that happened in between. (2 people have a first date in 1 episode, married with school age kids next episode, stuff like that)
we're talking about the 20 year old show right, not the crappy new one that was a few years ago. Taken, ie aliens.
Okay, I'm on episode 10 season 1 of Parks and Rec, and I got my first real Ron Swanson laugh...he's in his office getting ready for a secret hunting trip, and he's listening to turkey calls, which is called out by Leslie, and he says, "Is that not rap?"

Swanson is my favorite character and this is my favorite scene of his:
Spoiler:
Just started watching Community which has a similar vibe
So in The Last Kingdom, I find it interesting that the actress who plays Lady Aelswith, the pious widow of Alfred, and the actress who plays Lady Æthelflæd, Aelswith's daughter, are both 26 years old.
Here they both are out of costume:
And here's an interview with Eliza Butterworth, who plays Lady Aelswith:
I can't believe it's the same person....be sure to check out :50 - she shows us the Lady Aelswith sourpuss face.

Weird, Dom, I watched that YT featurette a week ago and almost posted the exact same thing re: the age comparison between her and Millie Brady. Theory: Aelswith has gotten more screen time every season because the people who make the show have fallen in love with the actress (it's possible she has an increasing role in the books, but I'm skeptical). Have seen the actress being prominently featured in other featurettes over the years as well iirc.
Hot take: This season should have been 8 episodes, consistent with the first two seasons. There's too much filler and a lack of tight storytelling; have to admit I've been bored several times while watching, which hasn't happened previous seasons. Doesn't help that the show has kinda been playing out the same themes over and over and over for years. I still have two episodes to go, but so far this season doesn't hold a candle to s1, which I just rewatched a few weeks ago and was just as enjoyable the second time around as the first if not more having a greater appreciation for the significance of events that happen e1.
Show is still plenty worth watching at least and I'm still proud to have been (I think) the original evangelist for it on this forum when s1 was originally airing. Hoping this season finishes strong,
Spoiler:
Sigtrygr (sp?) has been a solid character addition so far

Eliza Butterworth as Aeleswith is a helluvan actress....her IG is full of her partying and in workout clothes and acting like a typical 26 year old lol. And she has got a giant booty.
Some older short series that were good that I recently watched:
Lilyhammer - Mob related with Sil from The Sopranos. 24 episodes, 3 seasons
Boss - Kelsey Grammer is the Mayor of Chicago. 18 episodes, 2 seasons.
Dead to me - Aired last year, gets better at episode 3 and beyond. Season 2 is this Friday.

Boss was very good naked Kathleen Roberston
Next year how much new TV do we see with all the shutdowns
Anybody else watch Normal People on Hulu? Such great chemistry and passion between the two leads. I wouldn't usually comment on sex scenes, but goddamn! A review I read said "you feel like you're in the room with them" and that couldn't be more true. It would definitely get the "popular with women" tag lol
Is there a thread for Money Heist? I know I'm late to the party, just watching it now.
S1-S2 the closest comparison I can come up with would be peak (or at least almost peak) 24. Very fun to watch with a lot of clever twists.
S3 so far (I'm about halfway through) a complete abortion. You can tell they hired a bunch of Netflix dolts to Americanize the show, as a result of which all the tension is gone.
