you're better off if burn notice never loads

I tried to watch the cspan and WaPo youtube feed of the impeachment inquiry last week and it was unwatchable, even with a decent connection.

Didn't really think it was filler. Mando and Yoda bonded and Yoda showed his power.

Anyway show is awful obv. "Thanks for bringing peace to my valley" after like 100 living creatures are slaughtered.

So like the no1 rule of a bounty Hunter seems to be don't doublecross your employer. But the guild, who you would think would enforce such rules saves him anyway. Kinda hurts the reputation that upholds their livelihood.

Anyway, thought the settings and atmosphere is great. Great music actually. Fight scenes not entirely awful.

Oh ya after he shoots fake Lando why doesn't he take his steel. Dude just showed him some bricks and said he was rich. That stuff makes you invincible. Ok I'll stop.

Anyone check out His Dark Materials yet?

Tempted, but will probably wait until the season is over, then binge watch if the reviews are decent.

Been a bit put off by the fact I've, for some reason, never been able to get into the books, even though they are regarded as brilliant, and I've tried a few times.

Also The Golden Compass, with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, was possibly one of the worst films I've ever paid to see.

You bought a season of Burn Notice?

Unfortunately NBC has SNL clips on lockdown, but "What is Burn Notice?" Is one of my all time favorite sketches.

Late to the party on this one, but if I thought the first episode of Maniac (Netflix show) was just okay at best, should I stick it out? Or does me not loving the first episode make it unlikely I'd enjoy the season as a whole? Reviews seem very solid....

Loved Maniac but the first episode sets the tone so if weren't into it then you can shut it down. If you didn't hate it and thought it was okay then maybe try another.

I mean outside of the 99.5% of people who think it's amazing, you're right it's awful.
Come on now. It's top 3 best things ever made in the Star Wars universe. Would it be better if it was aimed at a slightly older audience? Almost surely. But as sci-fi goes, it's awesome.

I did find the 3rd episode to be the weakest though. The trick now is if they'll be able to do anything interesting developing characters.

Burn Notice was an enjoyable watch.

The overall feel of the show is consistent throughout, but the story doesn't really get interesting until the 3rd or 4th episode. I watched the first episode and thought it was meh, then went back to it a few months later, binged the whole season in 1 day and thought it was brilliant and kicked myself for not sticking with it the first time.

Maniac was amazing

Yeah I liked Burn Notice. I guess if it was released now it might seem not as great but it was a solid show at the time and became slightly more serial as it went along. It really helped USA green light a bunch of future shows.

Btw I have nothing against Burn Notice, I just really like that sketch. Im a Campbell nerd, so its fun to watch for his scenes.

Burn Notice was a pretty fun show, watched ton of it back when it aired.

How do you guys like Killing Eve ?

It was my understanding it was a good show but 4 episodes in I'd say it's decent network TV at best. Is it just me, or ? Not sure if I should carry on...

Not seen it, but was planning to at some point. I've only heard very good things about it, albeit from coworkers whom I don't massively trust in their TV tastes...

Wouldn't surprise me if it was a bit over-hyped due to it being Phoebe Waller-Bridge's project, and she's 'the next big thing' (rightfully so imo - she's great).

Killing Eve is great. Keep going.
