Finished the 5th season. By far the weakest season thus far. For the first time since I started (sort of) binge watching, I was bored at times.

Starting the 6th and last season tonight !

Regarding Paige (ultra minor spoiler):

Spoiler:
Not so much in the 5th season, but for 4 seasons before that, She has been the Skyler White, the Dana Brody, the Lori Grimes of this show...

Well, I hope you like where the story goes in ep 3. It stays focused on the issues revealed in the first 2 eps.

Yeah I know there is a consensus on 5th season being the weakest. Still enjoyed the first 4 a lot, and I'm sure the last 10 episodes will deliver.

Americans season 5 was when the writers trolled us that the show might jump the shark.

Season six was adamantly not the Fonzie ski jump.

He should just focus solely on doing Conan Without Borders.

That and dunking on Jordan Schlansky.

binge watched the first two seasons of good place this week. great show and I'm in love with kristen bell.

the best thing about it is that the possibilities are pretty much endless. you never know where the show is taking you. also love the bad, medium and good places idea lol. it's funny trying to imagine your own places.

I gave Casa de papel a shot but I'm out after 4 episodes. I don't even know where to start but it's really bad. A bunch of terrible soap opera drama mixed with caricatures for characters and a cartoonish plot. Not to mention every episode feels like it's 2 hours long. I really don't know why it's so popular.

Just watch Inside Man instead.

Hopefully it was just a one off and it gets back to being funny.

I've watched most of the best stuff over the last 15 years or so, but am obviously still missing out on some great TV. Lately I've caught up on The Man in the High Castle and The Americans (well, almost done with The Americans). There are two (apparently) masterpieces I haven't watched yet: The Sopranos and The West Wing.

My question is, did they age well ? Is it still worth getting into them now or did you guys realize upon a rewatch that it felt partly THAT good because the TV in general wasn't as good back then ?

I'm asking because I have more contemporan options such as Atlanta, the danish version of The Killing, Sharp Objects etc.

sopranos and west wing area absolute masterpieces and hold up extremely well.
it's particularly fun to watch the west wing and imagine trump in place of Bartlett.

Atlanta is incredible as well.

Having some fun with "Wayne". First episode free on youtube. Any opinions from those that have seen the entire season?

Sopranos aged well. It is about as good today as it is when i watched it during its original run.

I'm watching Sopranos for first time. It took about 5 episodes to get into it, but I'm on s2 now and it's good.

Gonna get murdered for this but watched sopranos only once and didn't think it was that great. There are some great eps but sometimes the show is a snooze fest. Every time Tony dreamed during almost the entire ep I wanted to stab my eyes.

I kind of agree with that. I watched Sopranos for the first time last year and it was good, I'm glad I did, but I didn't really get all the hype of it being one of the greatest shows ever. Theres definitely a lot of filler in that ~80 hours that you have to endure to get to the good parts. I guess I can't really think of many better shows from that era of TV, so I can see it being groundbreaking for its time, but it definitely still had a bit of that episodic 90s family drama vibe that feels a little old-fashioned compared to a lot of elite stuff that came after it.

Def watch Sopranos if you’ve never seen, I can’t imagine anyone would want to give up on it. The dream sequences prevent it from being goat but it’s still v high quality television.

Atlanta is outstanding and unique. I’m not a huge fan of Donald Glover’s music or standup but he’s a great actor and I really enjoyed both seasons so far. Non spoiler clip from the show:

I couldn't make it to the end of the episode.

Sopranos is probably the best comedy and best drama ever.

I also thought the Sopranos was a weird show in that regard. Watching it through a binge is definitely not ideal. Each season has about 5 episodes which move the plot forward then 15 where absolutely random **** is going on.

Sopranos definitely benefied from being at the forefront of the movement toward the anti-protagonist in television, a guy you rooted for even though he was morally reprehensible. But I showed it to a girlfriend a couple years ago and it definitely still held up. The mob story never goes out of fashion, and at its heart it is a story of family.

I’m 1/2 way through the first episode and I have no idea what it’s about yet, but I’m really liking it. Echos a bit of Shameless’s early days and perhaps a bit of End of the ****ing World. Could really be good!

The Other Two on ComedyCentral is pretty damn good as well.
