It has been discussed briefly in I think the TV Show Recommendation Thread.

I enjoyed it, especially the first and third episodes. The second wasn't as good. Most people seem to agree.

Any thoughts on the new Battlestar spinoff show?

I have huge hopes.

I guess its kinda spoilerish:
Spoiler:
From the little ive read about it they seem to be doing it during the first Cylon war following Adama's team of Viper pilots on the newly commissioned Galactica.

Hopefully there are lots of interesting missions, epic dog fights and it achieves what Caprica never could - ********s of action to keep ratings high.

Oh and the next BSG film sounds ****ing terrible, so hopefully this show works and i can ignore Caprica, the cheesiness of the original series, that 80s version with Dick Van Dykes son and the new film and just pretend BSG didnt end badly and make bold claims about it being an awesome franchise when in reality 90% of it has been absolutely terrible.

"***** my dad says" is really, really awful.
"outsourced" is kind of bad.
"raising hope" is sort of watchable though.
just my opinion for new sitcoms without a thread

NCIS is alright, NCIS LA is where its at man.

The crossover where Abby went to LA was pretty much a perfect NCIS episode.

Anyone watched Carpoolers a few years ago? I honestly can't understand why it was canceled after just 1 season, it was actually a pretty decent sitcom.

How often do people actually laugh out loud while watching tv? I'm talking an audible laugh. You're watching it alone and you're sober. The new episode of whatever your favourite comedy is is on, how often are you laughing?
laugh out loud way too much when watching tv/reading the internet...for my favorite comedies it could be like 5 or 10 times per episode

I don't watch the show, but I watched it because of Twin Peaks and thought it was pretty bad. A couple of mildly cool references and that's about it.

My sister convinced me to give the UK show Skins a try.

The first ep is amusing, but everybody was a bit too loathesome to make me want to watch more, but upon more urging- I watched the next 2 and it's gets better, and the kids a lot more likable. It's on Netflix On Demand if anybody is interested.

Re: laughing at jokes

I don't bust out laughing like I would at something irl, but some really good jokes get a chuckle. Here I an thinking the early Simpson seasons, arrested development, anything Anya said on Buffy, and Community. Otherwise I just smile slightly.

Re: Human Target

Guerrero is awesome.

<3 Anya - her death pretty much defines the Whedon technique.

Rewatched Buffy recently and rewatching Angel now. Why cant we have TV like that anymore

Re loling, i often dont laugh out loud since i do most of my best TV watching really late at night but there have been times like recently ive had to stop Community just to laugh through some epic jokes.

Ill give Human Target a spin after im through Angel. A couple recommendations is all it takes.

Watched a few more eps of Skins. I was already in a weird depressed mood, and the Chris and Sid eps were just heartbreaking- good, but man, sad.

Spoiler tags dude!

I think Spike has made me lol more than any character ever. At one point I was literally clapping at the screen in hysterics.

The continued theme of the onion bloom was epic.

Tara was another awesome character too and also again proved the Whedon technique.

Joss Whedon knows how to make great characters. He just has too much fun killing them off.

I don't remember the onion bloom at all. I loved Giles offering him a whopping $100 to risk his neck and him snap-taking it, twice.

Spoiler:
Spike was at his best when he was straddling the line between good and evil. He was obviously amazing throughout season 2, but was even better towards the end when he teamed up with the gang against Angelus. Sitting in the living room with Buffy's mom in awkward silence was so great.

In his one S3 appearance it was the same deal, and then for all of S4 he was conflicted because of the brain chip. In S5+ the character changed unrealistically imo and was not as fun anymore. He got a lot of that back in Angel S5.

Angel Season 5 was so promising, it really sucks that it got canceled. We got some glimpses of a Spike-Angel buddy team that could have been excellent long-term.
