Big Little Lies was ok I guess. The only thing that made it decent was a few quick shots of Nicole Kidman's Boobs.

Actually, thinking about this a little more, I think this would be better as a series of HBO movies. The Hedge Knight, Sworn Sword, and Mystery Knight could each be a 90-120 minute movie. Then they could get different actors to play Dunk and Egg as they get older, or wait the appropriate amount of years. I don't think a series would work as well because if they tell the whole Dunk and Egg story it would span like 40 years.

Then Robert's Rebellion for a series. Would be awesome to see young Stannis, young Robert, young Neddard, middle aged Barristan, middle aged Tywin. Or maybe OG Targ invasion? Not sure which one would be better. Bob's rebellion would probably be a more guaranteed casualfan draw.

read an article about this the other day that seems on par with what y'all are saying, it all seems well reasoned

Well, in my perfect world, the first spin-off would be a prequel based on the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, which happened about 175 years before the events of Game of Thrones. GRRM has written down a ton of what happened there, mainly seen in his A World of Ice and Fire compendium, so he’s practically written a novel about it. Plus, it’s far enough in the past that it wouldn’t be a prequel that needs to be beholden to Game of Thrones, giving the show a lot of flexibility to surprise and interest viewers beyond foreshadowing the current series all the time, which a straight-up prequel during Robert’s Rebellion would do.

I’d also love if the other three spinoff scripts being written were for the three Dunk & Egg novellas, which would be three TV movies or miniseries, but I doubt that’s the case. I guess I’m wary of them veering away from things GRRM has written down, although the show has bumped past the books, and did just fine.

So, my guesses:

1) A prequel, starting from the Tourney at Harrenhal, where Prince Rhaegar awarded Lyanna Stark the title of Queen of Love and Beauty, which pissed off everyone, especially his actual wife, who was there; ending with Robert Baratheon claiming the throne after his Rebellion.

2) The aforementioned Dance of the Dragons/Targaryen civil war.

3) The Adventures of Dunk & Egg.

4) The Adventures of Tyrion, after Game of Thrones ends with Tyrion forced to leave King’s Landing once more, for some reason (but the real reason being Peter Dinklage is the star of Game of Thrones and both HBO and the viewing public will want more of him).

Some may not even be set on Westeros.

[...]

We had four scripts in development when I arrived in LA last week, but by the time I left we had five.

[...]

Decades of experience in television and film have taught me that nothing is ever really certain... but I do think it's very unlikely that we'll be getting four (or five) series. At least not immediately. What we do have here is an order for four -- now five -- pilot scripts. How many pilots will be filmed, and how many series might come out of that, remains to be seen. (If we do get five series on the air, I might have to change my name to Dick Direwolf).

[...]

I can't tell you what the shows will be about (well, I could, but I won't), but I will tell you a couple of things they WON'T be. Which will disappoint some of you, sure, but better to do that now than later, I think.

We're not doing Dunk & Egg. Eventually, sure, I'd love that, and so would many of you. But I've only written and published three novellas to date, and there are at least seven or eight or ten more I want to write. We all know how slow I am, and how fast a television show can move. I don't want to repeat what happened with GAME OF THRONES itself, where the show gets ahead of the books. When the day comes that I've finished telling all my tales of Dunk & Egg, then we'll do a tv show about them... but that day is still a long ways off.

We're not doing Robert's Rebellion either. I know thousands of you want that, I know there's a petition... but by the time I finish writing A SONG OF ICE & FIRE, you will know every important thing that happened in Robert's Rebellion. There would be no surprises or revelations left in such a show, just the acting out of conflicts whose resolutions you already know. That's not a story I want to tell just now; it would feel too much like a twice-told tale.

More than that, I will not say. Feel free to makes your guesses, if you like... but I am not going to be confirming or denying anything, so don't expect replies.

so there you go, 5 projects now, all prequels, and none of them are Dunk & Egg or Robert's Rebellion.

speaking of, for anyone who is watching this, can someone tell me what the 80 (ish) people that came there have built or accomplished?

Seems like all they do is sit around and shoot the **** and talk about all the great things there gonna do and then take a smoke break, have an argument, take a week off and travel or quit and leave in a huff

had a good laugh at election tears. especially the girl who dropped "i'm from pennsylvania and voted green party because it always goes liberal"

ya the performances were great. I didn't like how they portrayed Ruth Madoff though. The film made it seem like she was completely ruined financially having to move in with her sister in Florida.

She was able to keep $2.5 million dollars as part of an agreement.

I'm Dying Up Here, Showtime's 70s era stand-up comedy drama is such a miss-fire, I'm amazed it got green-lit. IT's like a much-less successful Vinyl, if that makes sense. Some real bad writing....shame, it's got a decent cast.

You will not be able to follow the new season without at least watching the first season, the first 6 and last 6 of the 2nd season (you can skip the in between episodes), and Fire: Walk With Me.

The first season is about as perfect as TV gets. It's only 8 episodes long. The 2nd season has 22 episodes. FWWM is critical to understanding the new season. But you have to watch that AFTER you watch the original series, even though it's a prequel.

i didn't really understand what you said, but i guess if you say it's about as perfect as a season can be, i should at least give it more than 5 minutes. the opening credits were great! but then there was some cops doing some boring stuff and i turned it off.

i'll try again

thanks

Chicago Justice Down.

I am surprised they cancelled it, not that it didn't deserve it. For the most part it was boring and by far the worst of the 4 Chicago shows.

Fire
Med
PD
Justice

IMO.

tried like 3 episodes of that randomly on demand and agree it just didn't work. and I've watched however many hundreds of law and order episodes there are out there.

i'm friends with hot assistant girl. well, at least i used to be, til i asked her out and she said no

we were in acting class together. she is actually REALLY talented, and incredibly nice and awesome. really great girl.

i'm sure she's gonna be in tons of stuff.

i think it's probably good for her career that this show got cancelled. she is better than this show.

i emailed her just the other day. she didn't answer

also, the hot assistant girl read the miss pog thread last year
