Same question with Mad Men.

Mad men makes sense because the last half season is excruciatingly boring.

Thanks guys!

I started watching Nobel. Man this show is very good. I'll work through most of the other recommendations

RBK: Justified became just too repetitive and boring. Probably should have finished it but whatever I don't think I was missing anything special.

Mad Men was excruciatingly boring. Which was a shame as the first few seasons were great <3 January Jones.

I do agree that justified trailed off a bit as it wore on but would be hard for me to not ride it out to see how they ended it.

and at worst I could still watch boyd n raylan verbally spar forever.

the whole ava in jail storyline was AWFUL n it was hilarious hearing her accent get more and more over done as time went by.

check out bojack horseman if you haven't already it's really fantastic.

I'm watching Black Sails now. Their final season just started.
Shameless is pretty great.
First season of American Horror Story. Then you have to kind of pick and choose on the rest. I hated Freak Show. Coven was ok.

I might pick up Justified in the near future. Dropped it back in the day after two or three episodes even though it wasn't half bad.

As for dropping a show in its final season, I did that with Weeds. The show just fell so hard off the cliff and even though it hadn't been taking itself seriously for a while by then it was just a terrible waste of time and really not worth to sit it through even though I had committed to it so much.

Dropped Six Feet Under back in the day as well, somewhere during the 2nd season. I've heard so much praise for its final season and especially the finale that I'm probably going to watch the season at some point.

The finale of The Good Place was very good as advertised. The few eps leading up to it were pretty stagnant though. Probably will nevertheless return to S2.

Caught up with Fresh Off The Boat's weekly schedule, which sucks. Really enjoyable show as I mentioned earlier. The theme song is the nut low on TV, though.

The first half of Training Day's pilot wasn't very good. Lethal Weapon is kinda close enough in its premise and does a good job so I don't think I'll return to TD unless it really picks up in quality.

I'm fairly confident that if you watch the rest of SFU it would be a net positive. Just don't expect to be blown away.....until the finale.

Grunching, but finally binged Search Party. I felt like every time I was starting to really like it, it took a step back, but also every time it hit a rough patch it roped me back in. No idea what the premise will be for season 2. Didn't think Ron Livingston was right for his role at all, but most of the rest of the cast was solid except for whatever reason I couldn't enjoy Maebe too much. Then again, Hannah is my least favorite on Girls and SJP was the worst for me on SATC, so it's possible I'm just too critical of lead female roles.

This is Us is good? Just from the adds, it looks like non-stop manipulative crap.

The Good Place was fun. Though, after watching about twenty minutes of it, my GF guessed the final episode twist with no problem

I was pretty sure something was up. The hints were there. The reveal was well done.

This Is Us is good depending if you enjoy that type of show. Its not The Wire but if you liked Parenthood good chance you will like it.

I would recommend.

I suspect if we knew in advance there was going to be some big twist in the final episode many of us would have guessed it. The beauty of it was we weren't expecting anything, I mean it's a Michael Shur show so I wasn't really expecting anything Shyamalanesque. I expected there would be a reveal about the central mystery of how Eleanor landed in The Good Place, who is actually pulling the strings, etc... but this wasn't like Westworld where everyone is speculating from day one because you know there are going to be a bunch of twists.

I was legitimately surprised which doesn't seem to happen often anymore.

Lol my gf had no idea about any twist in the show...I did, tho, but it certainly didn't dampen my enjoyment of the twist when it happened. Loved how Danson just changed from hapless nice guy to snarky villain with just a chuckle and grin.

the good place

Spoiler:
Danson was great and I like they went evil/creepy for the reveal instead of silly.

I guess Michael "accidentally" kicking the dog into the sun should have been red flag.

Eleanor also says this to Michael in the first episode.
“My parents were divorced when I was a kid. They were both crummy people, so they’re probably in the Bad Place. Maybe they’re being used to torture each other. It would work!”

I suspect that if someone were to do re-watch they could compile a pretty good list of clues Shur had sprinkled through the episodes.
