I'm 4 eps into the OA and loving it and am thoroughly prepared to be let down.

3 episodes to go. I am liking it so far for the most part.

Off-key casting, flabby pacing, uninspired visuals and a script that reads like a community college assignment. Netflix's The OA is just barely better than being stuck in traffic. The trope of heartless science suppressing loopy theology does seem to fit the current zeitgeist, however.

Anyone else watch Lovesick on Netflix?

The show formerly known as Scrotal Recall changed its name for S2. A british sitcom about best friends who are in love with each other but can never seem to figure out the timing. It's told over the course of 6 years as the lead character goes back and examines all his old sexual encounters after he finds out he has an STD.

It's really funny, has slapstick bits, but also has a lot of heart. I liked season 1 and I loved season 2. Highly recommend.

I think it's pretty consistent and there are some nice bits and reveals in the last half of the season.

If you've liked it so far, it's going to come down to the finale for most people. There's a couple reasons for that. There's a plot point that some reviews have ragged on for "trivializing" or "exploiting" which IMO is as dumb as anyone bitching about a trans character. OTOH some people are just not going to like or be satisfied with the climax because it's a bit... unconventional (although it's really not, but explaining why is a huge spoiler).

Lastly, when it comes to serial dramas there are a few types of season endings. There's cliffhangers like Walking Dead does every season (who dies this time?). There's shows like Westworld which end the story and give a nice conclusion and if there's never another season (obviously there will be) it's ok we got an ending but also completely sets up the next season.

And then there's finales like The OA where some questions are answered but even more are raised and if the show never came back... definitely unfinished. Don't expect everything wrapped up with a nice bow.

Anyone know if this is a first, a show changing it's name between season 1 and 2?

p.s. great show!

I thought ep 1 of The OA was one of the best pilot episodes of a show I've seen.

Ya wife and I thought the same thing. Then it got....weird.

Metacritic giving it a 61 is so satisfying.

Yeah I just finished The OA also. Maybe this is a function of watching the last episode at 2am, but I didn't really get it. Can anyone explain what I just watched?

Spoiler:

I really liked it for the most part, but the ending felt hurried and I'm left with more questions than answers.

I just watched the pilot of OA and only really warmed up to it at the end. I am a bit undecided about continuing on. My bf likes it more than I do, so idk

I'm halfway through ep1 of The OA, and these people are all behaving in incomprehensible ways. It's giving me the creeps and frustrating me at the same time. So much easily avoided ambiguity being allowed to fester. I feel like the show is playing games with me and I'm annoyed.
