Did anyone see Death Valley? I thought it may be worth watching, but then I saw that it is a MTV production. Any comments?

edit@Rendle: Thanks, that's awesome!

Don't know anything about it, but Workaholics is also an MTV production and they knocked that out of the park. Granted, that's a horrid ratio, but you never know.

Apparently the pilot for Zooey Deschanel's new show New Girl is available in some places On Demand. I have Uverse and it's not available but it should show up in the usual places in the next 24 hours.

ya xfinity has it on demand. I was curious and checked it out. I had to fight myself not to turn it off in the first five minutes tho. The rest of the cast just seems really bland to me. I decided to give it a chance. The pilot was alright I guess. It just felt really lackluster to me overall and I'm not sure if I'd be compelled to watch future eps. Deschanel is really good there's just not enough behind her.

The show I'm most looking forward to is Apartment 23:

Krysten Ritter starring, and James Van Der Beek playing himself. Last I heard it will start in late fall once DWTS ends. Can't miss imo.

I think that's the only facial expression Krysten Ritter can do.

I watched this last night. It's definitely going to come down to if you like Zooey you'll like the show. If not you will probably find it pretty unbearable. I thought it was pretty good and it will be interseting to see how it does in the ratings with Glee as a lead in.

As expected, i love me some Zooey but the show was pretty cringeworthy bad at times. She is single handedly carrying it, which may work or it may not, but ill stick with it till it gets cancelled after like four episodes.

How do you manage to bag one of the hottest women in the world (59 in FHM's 2009 list, too lazy to google further) and a really recognisable actress who brings in a whole bunch of loyal fans and saddle her with three guys who are terrible both as actors and as characters and some really poor writers. The directing and editing was really bad too, with the "douche jar" (i like the concept of the joke) being shown in close up shot twice just to hammer home the point of what it was.

That said her character is pretty awesome and so clearly written for her and she is too damn loveable to hate the show. It just feels like they had a budget of X, her salary was going to be X-Y and what was left over was barely enough to make a show so they cut some serious corners.

Good news i guess. The Glau ep was pretty good but the cult one was awful.

Alphas is a decent enough show and im guessing the 1.8 million it pulls is good for the channel. It can be improved pretty easily but its moving in a solid enough direction.

I think you mean Gia Goodman!

(no, I'm just kidding, she's Jane. But also Gia.)

AV Club has a pretty good two-part preview of the new fall shows.
