I think it has always been either really good or really bad. Last season was mostly bad though, agreed.

Think Amy Schumer had a similar trajectory of other comedies driven by a stand-up, first few seasons are pulled from years of developed material, then they struggle to maintain the same level of quality over time.

This. Can definitely see the point where things get muddled a bit middle of season 2 and some of 3 but it certainly picks back up. Season 4 is a delight.

I'm with you. I had a hard time getting through s2. S3 is very close to s1 quality. Gonna binge s4 after I binge the last season of person of interest.

I'm really enjoying s2 of Bosch a lot. Not sure why I put off starting it for so long. Titus Welliver has such a commanding screen presence, even a viewer can get intimidated!

Just watched episode 1 of "The Get Down" and found it pretty spectacular.

I watched Ballers last night. It is astonishingly bad.

Did the 'GoT no spoiler' thread get nuked?

The Jim Gaffigan Show is cancelled. That is surprising. It was a pretty decent show.

there is a ballers thread. and agree, it's nowhere near as bad as bad entourage. it's just not super interesting this season, and last night's episode was actually one of the better ones.

Oh nice one, thanks. I've just started binging the last season, and it's interesting to follow along in the thread sometimes (especially a while after it's been aired, so it's been cleaned up a bit).

I figured it'd gone to aids, as usual, and had been removed.

The no spoilers part has become essentially irrelevant now that the show has gone past the books.

lol that's what I said and ppl lost their minds and called for my head and perma bans etc.

like literally I said nothing about the actual show just that I didn't think there were any spoilers left and ppl A) said "obv not true tons left" and B) me saying that was a spoiler.

the ppl in that thread are legit stupid as ****.
not surprising I guess that a thread full of ppl who hate reading and ppl who do it is aids.

but enjoy!

I really enjoyed the Jean Claude Van Johnson pilot from Amazon, in a similar vein to the movie JCVD...self-aware, totally dumb (in a funny way) action comedy.

didn't bother watching The Tick or the Kevin Bacon one but they're all 3 available to watch for free

I watched JCVJ and The Tick.

JCVJ gave me a couple of chuckles, but I think the premise wore thin in the first episode. Can't imagine it sustaining itself for a whole season.

The Tick on the other hand made me want a lot more.

Give "Survior's Remorse" a try for a similar show that's done much better. I watched in on RBKs recommendation and blasted through both seasons in a couple weeks.

I didn't think survivor remorse was better. But I didn't watch 2nd season yet. So maybe it improved. I feel they are both cheesy and forgettable

survivors remorse i liked alot initially but it quickly went downhill when it decided it wanted to stop being a fun light hearted show about young balling athletes and decided it needed to be super deep and serious.

the 3rd season is flat out unwatchable.

That's disappointing. I was excited to see that the 3rd season was already a few episodes deep. I enjoyed the first two quite a bit, but the season 2 finale was just awful in how sharp of a tonal shift it took the show.

It's a bit all over the place, with some stilted tonal shifts, but it's a very fun series so far. The Kung-Fu flourishes kept putting a smile on my face. All the actors do a pretty good job, but holy **** was DJ Malibu cracking me up. It was like Eddie Griffin auditioning for The Last Dragon.

I'm rewatching Enlightenment, the old HBO show from Mike White and Laura Dern. Shame they cancelled it, they were really onto something imo. I could watch Laura Dern forever, she's 10 kinds of awesome in every role she plays.
