Black Sails - New Starz show - OOTV -- Two Plus Two Poker Forums

I am going to go ahead and make a thread for this. 2 episodes in and I have a really good feeling about it. It basically is a prequel to Treasure Island. The world is much darker than the Disney pirate world but also much more fun. We get a nice mix of sex and violence. Not to the Spartacus level but still fairly graphic.

I haven't gotten around to watching the second episode yet, but I was quite impressed with the pilot. Given that it's already renewed for a second season, I'm in for two seasons of great fun!

Seen the first 2 episodes and I'm enjoying it so far, lots of interesting characters and visually looks really good.
Couple of random points:
- I really don't like Eleanor Guthrie (daughter of the island 'owner'), not sure if it's the acting/casting/character but whatever it is hopefully it'll improve.
- Singleton (mutiny leader) seemed like an great character, it seems a shame they killed him off straight away.

not doing it. starz has been on a solid run of killing shows that i loved. party down, magic city- not getting involved in anything from that network and then having the rug pulled out from underneath me again.

i'll catch up when/if 4 full seasons are run.

Caught up. I really, really, really like this show.

Very solid writing, excellent pacing, I dig every single character, and I like that they've also introduced a bit more humor to it after the pilot. Very fun and enjoyable. I can't say one single thing that I don't like about this show.

^ Ok after the latest episode of true detective i change my mind.

At first i felt like it was ripping off Hannibal(way too many similarities)

I still think Black sails is light years ahead of the more popular shows like the walking dead and most of the other **** thats on tv right now.

I like the show and I liked the last episode, I never knew you had to de-barnacle the boat and how they did it looked pretty damn amazing. I like all the characters.
