This whole thing has me hooked on English futball now, so I’ve blown through “Take Us Home: Leeds United” as well

Spoiler:
Excruciating ending

Now I’m binging “Sunderland ‘til I Die”

And I’ve set my DVR to start recording all the weekly premier league games

I’m completely hooked

I loved playing soccer growing up so I’ve always been a fan of futball so it’s natural for me to enjoy this stuff whereas I know it bores most Americans

I can't endorse or recommend the US Love Island reality series. And most of the episodes are utter mindless crap but damn, tonight's episode was top notch TV.

The premise of the show is that a group of random men and women are "paired" up to find love. Well after several weeks of getting to know each other, the producers in a surprise twist, split the men and women and isolate the men to a duplicate "Love Island" and introduce new group of women to the men and new group of men to the women. The idea is to test the various original relationships. A week later (tonight), each person gets to decide if they want to couple up with a person from the new group or keep their original partner. Neither original partner knows what choice the other will make.

Tonight the results were revealed along with all the resulting drama. The fireworks were glorious.

Episode 3 of Lovecraft country was so bad that I almost quit watching it but 4 was a little better and 5 was pretty good. Not sure how I feel about the show. It really isn't going anywhere right now

thanks for the Lovecraft update. spouse and i finished ep3 last night and it was def a departure from the previous two...was wondering where it might go.
i haven't read a ton of Lovecraft but wasn't he all about writing short stories? the episode format of modern tv is tailor-made to using that large body of work as inspiration.
does anybody know if the theme of the episodes references any of his written work?

If you enjoy true crime stuff, the 3-part miniseries Deswas very, very good, and Tennant was fantastic as Dennis Nilsen, a Scottish serial killer. The case, and especially his confession, are pretty bizarre.

I've watched the first 6 episodes and still don't know how I feel about it. It's well acted and weird in a good way, but I'm starting to get some Lost vibes in that they've introduced a bunch of stuff that doesn't feel like it's going to pay off in a satisfactory way. It's interesting enough that I'll finish out the rest of the season.

+1 on Raised by Wolves

I thought the first two episodes were brilliant... the rest not so much. The storyline went very meh imo which is a shame as it seemed so promising at the start

The show is based off a book of the same name (not by Lovecraft) and my understanding is that its been following the books fairly closely

I didn't like Ep5, I thought it was pointless. I have liked all the episodes till then though.

Has anyone seen The Third Day? I just saw a preview for it and have no idea what it's about.

Pretty insane that Schitt's Creek is absolutely crushing at the Emmy's tonight. I mean it was ok, but wasn't all that.

Been meaning to watch it for a while. Think this has pushed it to the top of my viewing queue.

It's good, but shouldn't have crushed like that. They were just giving it some love because it was their final season.

I think the first 2 were directed by Ridley Scott so that could potentially account for the drop in quality.

I'm still enjoying it but it's starting to have a walking dead feel where characters behave in ways that make no logical sense and sort of meander around for episodes at a time. I do still think the 2 android characters are quite interesting however I could care less about the humans.

Utopia comes out on Amazon tomorrow. The British series was excellent but who knows if this version can capture any of the feeling from it. I think all the episodes are dropping at once.

The British series was excellent...no reason at all to re-make it.

The Wilson-Wilson torture scene still gives me shivers btw. "Chilies. Sand. Bleach. A spoon."

Started watching The Comey Rule on Showtime. Looks pretty good. 2 movie length episodes Tonight and Tomorrow. About the Hillary email investigation and Trump getting elected. Jeff Daniels, Michael Kelly, Scoot Mcnairy, Jonathan Banks to name a few.

Also the 2 extra long episodes premiere of Fargo tonight!

The worst part is we almost got a David Fincher remake of the original show on HBO and now we are left with this steaming pile of garbage. The original was so good, cannot believe amazon actually greenlit this.
