I'm enjoying umbrella academy season 2 more than season one. I liked season 1 plenty fine too.

Haven't seen much discussion about it anywhere really but I can see S1 is preferred by audiences. Gonna make a start on S3 now.
Thanks for the recomendation, really like this 4 episodes in.

Been thinking of starting this. I’m not a big superhero fan but I did like The Boys and loved Watchmen.

Due to COVID, my family - wife and I, plus 16 and 14 year old boys - now has TV nights on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We've already done Stranger Things (liked it, but not blown away), Outer Banks (would've been better if they were girls), and Black Mirror (some episodes great, others a total miss).

I was thinking maybe The Society? What do you recommend?

We have Netflix and Prime.

I recently rewatched Lost. I think 14 year old me would have liked that show.

Its quite a bit closer to the boys than watchmen. Has a lot of humor and absurdity to it, and is very dark. My favorite character is a guy in his 70s who basically grew up alone in an apocalypse, becomes a hitman, then time travels his personality back into his 13 year old body. That said, I don't think its as good as the boys so I don't want to hype it up too hard. Season 1 slogs in parts, but I haven't felt any of the emotional run down in season 2 that I associated with season 1.

I don't have kids, so don't really know, but is The Americans cool for a 14 year old? My parents didn't screen anything for me, I could watch whatever the hell I wanted so I can't use my youth as a gauge either, lol.

Probably a handful of uncomfortable sex related scenes, but no nudity as far as I recall - if black mirror was ok I don’t see this being much worse.

Hmm, I might have to check out The Sinner.

Re: The Umbrella Academy, I didn't really like it a couple episodes in
Spoiler:
with the exception of the Tiffany dance sequence- that was pretty amazing lol
and bailed, but I know several people who liked it. Seemed like some interesting ideas with botched execution.

I have finished season 1 and two now and while its not elite in any way its really enjoyable with a solid storyline and solid acting. I likes season 1 more then season 2 but season 2 was good enough and I will watch season 3 when it hits netflix. No brainer watch if you need something to watch.

I watched episode 1 of The Sinner and thought it was decent. Unfortunately, in a very narrow time window of getting spoiled, I somehow managed to see a gigantic spoiler as I was researching something about the show and specifically trying to avoid spoilers. I basically feel like I know exactly how everything is going to unfold now. Conflicted as to whether I want to keep watching. Would definitely have watched the next episode at a minimum if I had avoided the spoiler.

The Sinner S1 is some of the best TV I have ever seen, S2 was ok and S3 mehhh. Shame.

Came here for the final season of Vis a Vis, anyone seen it? Really impressed me, completely different and more of a standalone sequel than a final season, but they handled it very well. Zulema Zahir GOAT female character

Are The Sinner seasons stand alone or is it a continuing story?

Stand alone with the only carry over being the detective who investigates the cases.

Season 1 was quite good. Season 2 was definitely a decline, but still watchable and enjoyable enough. From what I remember of the 3rd season, I didn’t like it at all unfortunately.

Sinner season 1+2 were great but I'm really struggling with 3. 4-5 eps in and just don't care for it at all

I found s1 entertaining, but definitely not great. It is a second tier show for sure, but worth watching.

15 minutes into S1E1 of The Sinner, and this was a basic cable show?

They just released the The Boys S2 trailer. In addition to it looking ****ing amazing, Aya goddamn Cash is not only playing Stormfront, but it looks like her role is going to be huge.

I'm so ****ing excited.

It was on the USA Network, which also had Mr. Robot. There’s so much good TV out there these days. Hard to keep up.

I meant more in the sense of, "This passed standards??" than, "This is quality?" Very graphic sexually and violently, for basic cable. EDIT: in the first 15!
