Mythic Quest any good? Poor man's silicon valley?

I tried it, and it's impressive, but I think it's the fact that no one is literally breaking into song in Zoey (I mean, yes they are), but it's only in Zoey's head and it's their innermost feelings. I don't know why that makes a difference, but it does lol

It's the conceit and the concept. I like it. But I don't normally like traditional musicals where people randomly break out into song unless they're actually singing in the story of the movie, like in the movies Fame and Once. But I like this. <shrug>

im 6 minutes into this zoe show, based on your recommendation. i'm struggling. it's nbc for one thing. and she works at some tech company in sf. i'm gonna keep going cuz 6 minutes isn't really a fair shot. but man... this is tough

Silicon Valley was very entertaining. The startup and VC culture realism really added to the quality of the show.

reading about zoey i was picturing deschanel and thought no way i have to watch another show with her being the worst of the cast.

silicon valley show was ripping that whole world to shreds, brutally mocking it. otoh, zoey show is not doing that at all... i don't think. only seen a little so can't say for sure

nah, i like a lot of the stuff you like. and the first scenes with her powers were pretty good. and that lead actress has some real skills! im surprised she's not a bigger star.

speaking of musicals for people who don't like musicals, i HIGHLY recommend dr horribles sing along blog. it's only 40 minutes, and it's free on youtube. some really talented famous people worked on it, and released it just for free. they never tried to make any money off it, just a labor of love. it's brilliant and hilarious.

one thing that hurts me about the show is seeing their portrayal of san francisco. it's my home. or was my home. i was born there, and lived their 45 years, til i recently moved to LA because SF was unbearable.

my SF was home to wonderful weirdos, hippies, artists. but it's been taken over by corporate tools. it breaks my heart.

those apartments that she and her neighbor live in probably cost about 6k a month. and her black neighbor might be the only black person living in north beach(their neighborhood)

I still didn't watch the movie accent was too hard for me without subtitles and it s waiting on on some hard drive, I m a bit worried the movie is less interesting than the story

Mary Steenburgen seems like such a good sport.

Loved her as a bad guy in Justified.
