I thought Euphoria was very strong. It's rare that I feel really drawn into a show these days, and I think the shock value worked too, plus the great backstories at the beginning of every episode. I'm not sure though how much more mileage they can get out of the same cast. I actually think the show would work just fine if each season they were to bring in a whole new cast.

I didn't even realize there was going to be a season 2 of The Terror. Looks like it has nothing to do with the first or the original novel though. Different story, different actors, different writers, different showrunners, different settings... I'm not getting how this is even considered the same show. Even anthology shows usually share at least some common thread.

yes they are pulling a Halloween 3 here. obv I am still watching tho.

both shows revolve around real life historical events so I guess that's the common thread.

Agree the show was great but, as the previous poster said, the writing was average and it was the cast that made it captivating. Replacing them would be crazy.

Zendaya has off the charts charisma and the rest were all great in their own way. We still have some backstories to come (Fezco GOAT) and we need to see Nate get got.

Just watched first episode of Derry Girls on Netflix. Comedy set in Northern Island in the 1990s during the Troubles. Was recommended to me by several people. First ep was hilarious imo, looking forward to the rest.

Just finished Euphoria and I’m on team bad. First 6 episodes or so I was interested and kept binging. The episode where she was the detective onward was significant drop in quality imho and finale was the worst episode of the season. The ratio of full frontal male nudity to teenage titties was also way askew.

+1, I just started watching and am 5 episodes in. It's really good. Pretty hardcore for a high school show for sure.

How would this be for someone who finds watching shows with extreme british type accents difficult?

Like, I love Spaced and The Full Monty, but both took me more than a couple watches ro truly understand.

It's very Irish accents and I'm English and found I had to concentrate to understand them sometimes.

Subtitles help with heavily accented shows

I didn't have any trouble understanding the Derry accents and I do tend to struggle with English accents. I dunno irish seems easier.

Show is pretty great too.

I only watched like 4 episodes of "Yellowstone" with Kevin Costner last year and wasn't really getting into it and gave up because to many other shows going on. Season 2 is almost finished airing now and the reviews of the show are really good so I watched the rest of Season 1 and started season 2. It's a good show. It's renewed for Season 3 also.

Not knowing anything about owning a ranch, is that complete TV BS when they said that Yellowstone ranch(in the show) pays 6 Million a year in property tax?

I looked up Montana property tax and its like .71% so is there a ton of additional taxes involved in owning a ranch?

Oh and then because they are building a casino in the town supposedly that will double to 12 Million a year in tax. lol

I recently finished watching all four seasons of The Affair.

It was decent enough with too much soap opera stuff and characters often behaving a little too strange (Cole and Noah road trip). When the dual unreliable narrator style was used well, the show was very interesting.

Towards the end of season 4, I had a strong suspicion regrading Alison's death that doesn't seem to have panned out in the final episodes.

In season 4, Alison meets her father who has initiated contact because he needs a kidney transplant. Alison doesn't explicitly say "no" but walks out and eventually heads to California. Shortly after her return to Montauk, Alison is dead.

When Cole and Noah go to identify Alison's body, Cole is handed a manila envelop with pictures of the body. The pictures are said to include "all identifying marks" (or something to that effect).

When I head that quote, I wondered if there would be a photograph showing an incision in the lower back which could have been the result of a kidney being removed. So, I wasn't surprised when Cole didn't look at the pictures and instead asked to see the body. When Noah (instead of Cole) views the body, he doesn't see her back since she's face up.

At the point, I said to myself "If Alison is cremated, then there is definitely going to be a suspicious photograph."

Alison then gets cremated against Cole's wishes.

The 9th episode with the dual Alison perspective is strange but seems to make Ben responsible for her death in a moment of passion. However, that doesn't seem satisfying to me.

What was the point of meeting Alison's father? And what was the point of him needing a kidney?

Was Ben really in an unhappy marriage? We only met his wife briefly but she seemed happy while decorating Ben's office.

Why is no blood or evidence of a struggle found in Alison's home? Why would Ben keep her alive and carry her to the place where she's dumped in the water? Why not kill her immediately and then dump the body?

In a show with often bizarre plot turns, is it possible that Alison's father is connected to her death, possibly along with Ben?

me and the wife watching perpetual grace LTD on epix and keep feeling like it reminds us of patriot from amazon even tho the 2 shows have nothing really in common.

then I look up the creator and show runner and it's the same guy who created wrote and directed patriot.

it's not as good but it's def interesting so far (5 episodes in).

I’m trying not to get too excited about Mandalorian.

I’ve always been more interested in the non-Jedi subplots, planets, and characters of the Star Wars galaxy. It sounds like Favreau is interested in telling those stories. This is literally a dream come true for me; I was a big reader of the books and always hoped that they would open up the worlds on tv and film one day.

I think the trailer looks fantastic.

Fingers crossed!

Anyone watching Season 2 of The Terror? I watched 1.5 episodes. Meh
I don't hear Dominic going nuts for it like last season.

The Righteous Gemstones is pretty good after 2 episodes. Just get past the 1st 10-15 Minutes.
