They both received a 9 episode backorder and do ok in the ratings. I wouldn’t bet on one of them getting canned.

Just saw an amazing VICE on HBO:

Panic: The Untold Story of the 2008 Financial Crisis

Doc on the bailout with literally every major figure talking on camera about their role, including:

GW Bush
Barack Obama
Hank Paulson
Ben Bernanke
Tim Giethner
Nacncy Pelosi
Warren Buffett
Rahm Emanuel
Jamie Diamond

And many others...it's amazing to hear all of them speak so frankly about it all.

There is a Frontline from 7 or 8 years ago that has a lot of those people, it is great as well.

But do they really?

It’s so easy today, because everyone knows the current president lies half the time and then doubles down on it, but back then people were just a lot more subtle without telling the truth. So I have a hard time believing they are honest about it now instead of wording every response very carefully to preserve their legacy.

I guess I have to check out that episode, thanks for sharing.

[I had a bunch of finance classes in grad school in 08/09, that gave me a different, pretty sad perspective on the financial crisis]

The Innocent Man is out around midnight tonight. It is based off of the Grisham book about an innocent man being convicted of murders in Ada, OK. Looks great.

I've been watching The Twilight Zone for the first time. 3 episodes in now and this show is fantastic (hot take, I know...). I really like how it's a 25-minute version of what most shows like this get done in 45 minutes. We just get straight to the mystery or confrontation in the first couple minutes. And having never watched anything from this era (except Chaplin I guess), it's also a fun look back at clothing, special effects, sets, etc from the era.

are you referring to the Rod Serling Twilight Zone from the late 50's/early 60's?
i thought you were until you really confused me with the Chaplin reference. the prime period of each of those is decades apart in my mind.

i've always thought of Black Mirror as a longer form version of the original Twilight Zone

No, you're right. I'm just an idiot. Modern Times was 1936 and Twilight Zone is 1959.

Yea, I am caught up on Dirty Jon and its ok but after this last episode, It is unreal how stupid some women are. My favorite is, oh here is this box of money I keep in this drawer that I have no idea how much it is but probably 80 or 90k, sure you can take it to your safety deposit box and put it with your money, especially being I have known you for a few weeks and all.

And this is a true story I believe.

She for sure ignores all the warning signs lol. I started cracking up when Bana showed up in cargo shorts for their first date and the bed roll over scene. Guy's do the same the stuff in regards to stupidity, like buying expensive jewelry for someone they just met they'll never get back.

It is based on true events, he was a real person con-artist with problems.

The Innocent Man is one hell of a story. Small town LE can be so corrupt it's frightening.

It's a must watch deserving of its own thread imo.

If you have any sanity you'll never make a thread just for it. There has been a three year cluster**** of like 5 people in the Making a Murderer thread engaging in a non stop circle jerk since it premiered.
