Loved S1 as well, but it takes an incredible amount of investment on the viewer’s part. It’s just so heavy that soon as I read that HBO is planning four more seasons, I haven’t been able to get excited, knowing they’re going to drag it on for that much longer.

I've given up on westworld midway through episode 6. I find it really hard to follow and/or care about anything that's going on. There was one semi-enjoyable episode this season but nothing that Black Mirror hasn't done ten times better. Season 1 was ok.

man, I didn’t even realize it’s on AMC here. I’m in the US but I’ve always streamed it online, where it’s 3 episodes ahead right now

Any cord-cutters here who have tried/looked in to the various streaming TV services popping up? I tried Playstation Vue for a month or two last year and thought it was a pretty great service, but hit an annoying bug occasionally where ~20 seconds of a show might disappear (dunno if it's improved since then). Would have switched except Comcast lowered my bill a bit when I called to cancel.

Since then, Youtube TV and Hulu TV and DirecTV Now have come along - seems like it's getting a lot more competitive. Youtube and Hulu's $40/month price tag is attractive, DirecTV is a little more ($50) to get local sports that the others include but they claim you can add HBO for just $5/month?

Anyway, I'm sick of giving Comcast too much money so I'm curious if anyone can recommend these newer services.

Set tv was fantastic from Nov. when I signed up until Thursday when they folded up. Looks like they caved from the lawsuit they were facing from all the big movie companies. I too got sick of giving Comcast money and dropped them in December.

I've been with YoutubeTV for a few months now and generally really like it. I'm still paying $35/month for it.

I signed up for the Hulu TV trial, figuring I can at least watch Handmaid's Tale during the free week.

So far...

Pros: DVR functionality is pretty cool - flipping through recorded TV 10 seconds at a time with thumbnails on the bottom as you scroll is really convenient for getting through ad breaks.

Cons:
1. ADVERTISEMENTS. You still have to pay $4/month on top of the normal $40 price to remove ads from their on-demand content, and even in live TV, when DVRing a baseball game today I jumped forward 20 minutes and got hit with an unskippable ad before I could keep watching. F THAT.
2. No AMC
3. No app for my 2016 Samsung TV (it looks like their live TV app is for 2017 TVs, whereas it looks like I can use the Youtube TV app on my TV) - I've been using the Xbox One app, which is a decent replacement, but it's a pain to turn on the Xbox every time I want to watch something

Will probably binge Handmaid's Tale this week and then drop it and try Youtube

YouTubeTV has this same functionality. Not sure about Hulu, but YoutubeTV has unlimited DVR.

I saw unskippable ads twice the other day while watching Killing Eve (was watching a recording). Never seen them before then. Will continue to monitor that. I don't know about any added fees to remove them.

I tried YoutubeTV for a while, but there weren't enough channels. It might be better now. And I live an hour from L.A. and Dodgers and Angels games are blacklisted?? BS.

As a fan of Imposters s1 I thought s2 took a dip. I wasn't a fan of everyone in different locations for so long.

Been watching more of the David Letterman interview show....and I'm bored. Is it me, or does Letterman suck at interviewing people?

I still liked it, but ya prob not as good as s1. Sucks that it got cancelled although I think they’re trying to see if a different network will pick it up

Yes, he's a terrible interviewer. There were a few times when Obama had to bite his tongue because Letterman cut him off with something off topic. Seinfeld interview was bad but I can't stand Seinfeld. Jay Z was surprisingly good.

I'll always have a soft spot for Howard and Dave, but haven't been compelled to watch any of the others.

I thought this was pretty common knowledge, his interviewing skills have always been subpar.

I pretend Letterman died the night after his last CBS show aired, to better preserve both our dignities. In his prime he was the very best, never forget! At comedy I mean.

The problem I have with Succession is that the older son who is the temp CEO is a buffoon and I can't imagine what his estranged wife would ever see in him.
