yea however I think the show really is trying to makes us "sympathize" with her which I dont think thats how martin was thinking when he wrote her.

book shae is def a hoe

if they are trying to make us symphathize with her they shouldn't be making me fell like I want to die every time she's on screen, always bitching about something

I always felt like Shae was going to have more of a major role in the story at KL but somewhere along the line GRRM just said "**** it, bitch needs to die" and wrote her out of the story.

It seemed odd for him to spend so much time on her to just have her die the way she did.

I mean not really it's a huge impetus for tyrion to kill tywin which is a pretty big plot development.

in a lot of ways she resembles his first love who was similarly manipulated/taken from him by tywin.

obv it's not the exact same situation but it clearly stirs up those same feelings he had after the tysha (was that her name?) incident, and is the primary reason he kills him.

I liked this episode. I'm kinda ashamed about how much of the books I've forgotten by now tbh.

agreed, for her story to makes sense she needed a lot more. Either some kind of reveal from her past or a longer arc. It does seem like he write her off. ALthough I dont recall her as well from the books so maybe there is more to her there.

But even if not, I guess that's part of this world, sometimes the heroes die, and hoes are usually just hoes.

Does Selmy know Jorah was talking to Varys in the show?

it's unclear, he told jorah that he wasn't part of the small council meetings, but it might be that he knows and is holding off on telling dany until he gets to know jorah a little better.

I would guess Selmy outing Jorah comes up - but wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't

Jorah seems to be mostly be around as a sidekick, I doubt his role ends up being very significant either way so I'm not sure his being outed as a spy ends up being hugely important

Isn't Selmy sitting at the table when Ned is arguing with the small council and Robert about assassinating Dany?

Kind of has to come up, doesn't it? Why else would Dany force him to leave? Also, isn't that that 'betrayal for love' from the prophesy? Can't recall if that prophesy made it to tv though.

They didn't do it that way with Theon. Though admittedly, there's no Bolton's Bastard level character to build up with The Hound's story.

A beautiful scene I know people are looking forward to this season is Sansa & the snow castle. If they can deliver there I'll be able to forgive them for the almost certainly disappointing viper vs mountain fight.
Agree.

Everything about her was about how she affected Tyrion, and Tyrion left the country. Nothing odd about it at all.

4 pages just for Ser Duncan the Tall. Nice trolling, showrunners.

Grunching obviously. Kinda interesting that they're bring Ser Dontos in now for Sansa's story. I've only read the first two so I don't know what else is going on, but they're really meshing the books together now it seems. I'd assume some stuff from B4 is in this season too.
