jaime seems like the exact same in the show as he is in the books

Sansa, imo. I feel much worse for her than I remember feeling reading the books, and I'm excited to see her story play out.

I think I'd go Jaime at least so far. In the books he's just a good soldier that loves Cersei and hates himself for it. I think the show dives deeper into his convictions/humanity et al.
Are you high? The worst thing about the show is what they did to Jaime imo. He's my favorite character because of how "gray" he is. In the show they pushed it too much before his redemption. Jaime would never kill his cousin in the books. He even says that IIRC

I also like the show versions of Arya, Roose, Missandei, Ramsay, and probably a couple characters more than the book versions.

I'd have to say show Robert seemed like a much fuller character than book Robert. His conversation with Cersei remains one of the better scenes in the entire series.

Margery has been much improved in the show - she actually seems to actually be a 'player' in the game.

Tywin feels more imposing in the show - basically all down to Charles Dance's great performance

Bronn is better in the show, simply because he's used more in the show and Jerome Flynn's chemistry with Peter Dinklage is fantastic.

You should watch the first few eps of s01. I used to feel the same way but after rewatching I remembered how much of a bitch she was. The lie about the attack on the butcher's boy, the way she treated ned, who was probably the best father in westeros, etc.

that was a bad troll attempt. shae was always bad, but the show makes her woat. tormund, they took from awesome to meh.

Very good post. I agree with almost everything. In the books is kinda hard to see margaery's intentions because of the POVs but I think she is manipulative in them too, it's just that they made it more obvious in the show, like everything they do.

Shae was fine in the books. She was unbearable in the show, then when she turned down the bag of diamonds from Varys it was just like wtf, her character is super annoying and makes no sense.

Yep, I felt the same way, but right now as a tv viewer I want her to kill all the Lannisters, except Tyrion ldo.

Think this is the right answer, he's a good-not-great book character to one of the very brightest spots for the show. The season 1 scene with him skinning the deer still stands out to me, plus the Arya stuff was awesome.

Good point made on Robert being better on the show too.

ya bronn and tywin were my first thoughts as well.
even knowing how big a **** tywin is in the books, whatshisface who plays him in the show is GOAT level. really sad we're gonna lose him.

also the fire priest that's in the brothers without boarders I think is better in the show.
oh and jorah is pretty great in the show.

who do we think was significantly better in the books vs the show?
I think I like book jon snow and book robb stark more then their show counter parts.

Charles Dance is really incredible as Tywin. He and Arya are just absolutely perfect in their roles. They're who I picture in my head when I read the books now.

I think Jon Snow is slightly worse because I cannot see him being LC in like less than a season from now.

tough to see a 17 year old being LC no matter how he looks or acts

(or w/e his age is in the books)

I see everyone in the books when I read now, even the characters where I don't like the adaptation. Kind of sad really.

Arya is great in both, TV arya is a good adaptations, so OK, whatever. Tywin, yeah, Chuck Dance GOAT. Varys...he's good in the show, but really faithfully adapted. He's good but better? IDK.

Marge? She's meh in the show and meh in the books. I mean we see actual tits in the show so that's better?

Ned. The adaptation in the show is solid but it is really just exactly what I'd expect.

Theon. Yes, show Theon is spectacular. Amazing.

Man I don't know show Jaime is spectacular. He just nails it. I love book and show Jaime a lot but man I don't know what else you want from show Jaime.

Ramsey, eh, I think show Ramesy is pretty good, they need some humor that isn't there in the books.

John, I feel like they did a really great job of capturing book John's blandness, not sure what else you want here.

LF, yeah, he's ****ing terrible in the show, worst adaptation in the show and it's not close. Cersei, sure, she's good in the show but AFFC Cersei is amazing and show Cersei is worse for sure as of now.

You like book Stannis better than show Stannis? I mean I don't even. Show Stannis is the best adaptation in the series and it's not close. Show Stannis is just spectacular.
