Wondering if winds of winter will ever be released. GRRM seems more interested in helping with the spinoffs.
Episode was ok but my expectations for this season are pretty low.

Considering giving the audiobooks a go rather than doing a re-read. Seems theres only one available narrated by roy dotrice, anyone listened through and can tell me if hes good?

Some books are brought to life by the narrator and some are borderline unlistenable in my experience

Aside from the way he pronounced Brienne, I loved everything about his narration

Yeah I have listened to the entire series on audiobook and they're very good. Dotrice does recognisable voices for a ton of characters. The characters have regional accents, so that members of the same Houses speak similarly. From memory he changes some of the voices in the fourth book, which is a little jarring. Dotrice died in 2017, so he won't be voicing Winds of Winter, unfortunately.

Didn't hate the ep. Dialogue with the reunions was better than I expected it to be.

sansa smart and dragon riding were both extremely rushed and bad

they couldnt do much to convince us that sansa is suddenly a genius in the show so whatever but the dragon riding couldve actually been introduced fluently and interestingly with how the dragons react to Jon differently than non-targs and **** anyway they completely butchered it im mad ****off

Pretty cool book-only theory here which was new to me. The centrepiece of the theory is that Bloodraven and the Three-Eyed Crow are different entities.

show tonight supported this bigly. Basically said that the three eyed crows were the agents of the Night King.

edit: actually he said three eyed ravens,

when they were having a war council and Jon was all hey we should try to kill the white walkers instead of the wights and Jamie was all well if that's true they'll never show themselves and then bran flake was all oh well actually they will because they have been three eye ravening me hard for so long.

I'm just going to watch some Frasier reruns next weekend, to end the week with something more exciting than GoT.

Honestly I think the big action sequences have been pretty since the season 3 battle at the wall. The Battle of the Bastards was very badl. So I like these episodes better than the terrible battle we will get next week, but this episode made last week's seem very redundant.

lol you guys suck...how do you complain about spending a beautiful hour with a bunch of characters you've spent ten years with, and for whom many won't survive? It was a great episode.

But who the hell is Blood Raven??

I thought that one was good

Everything after episode 3 is shrouded in secrecy so who tf knows what's gonna happen after the BoW

Blood raven is the tree guy. Brynden Rivers.

to be clear, I liked tonight's episode a lot, much better than last weeks. Just last week's felt weird and slow and the episodes seemed like they were similar in what they were designed to do -- get all the folks in the places they need to be and have a bunch of reunions.

I liked the episode, but it could have been way better if pre-writer's-block-George had written the dialogue.

About 100% chance Brandon Sanderson ends up writing the end of series

good lord please no. Couldn't think of another writer more unsuited to finishing ASOIAF. Don't think George wants anyone to finish it if he kicks off.
