I know I am super-grunching, but I was re-watching some episodes, and now I have a question.

In the scene in which Arya goes blind, Jaqen says that for someone with a name, the faces are as good as poison. Since it was clearly established that Arya had a name before she left Braavos (idk why did they let her leave, but that is another matter) how is she able to successfully use the faces when she murders Walder Frey and the scene in which she poisons the entire Frey house?

Show writers are awful, I believe, is the explanation.

Yeah the whole Arya plotline only makes sense if you somehow assume the many faced god is cool with her, because otherwise she should have been toast 1000 times or at least not been able to use the faces after leaving.

Pretty much nothing makes sense at all outside of what was written in to the books.

The Frey scene was just horrendous fan service to the absolute stupidest block of fans.

Example #15,132 of how there are no consequences for anything in the show anymore.

Man I'm actually tempted to read it. You keep thinking it can't possibly get worse but it most likely will.

I don't care anymore, I'll search for it. Will give a spoiler-free report on plausibility and on how many times I rolled my eyes.

Yeah it all looks to be garbage. Thought it would be. Don't think writing on the season has even started yet?

What surprises can there be at this point? Azor Ahai?

Meeting of characters ep1, maybe Jamie comes along and tells of Cersei betrayal.
Arya and Hound off to kill Cersei/Mountain.
Stuff happens with Golden Company/Theon/Euron/Melissandre??
?????
Big Battle
Goodies prevail
Harry Potter Epilogue, bittersweet perhaps.

HBO said the scripts were done a couple of months ago. Filming supposedly starts next month and they're already building sets. If the leaked script sucks, it probably means it's real.

The leak I found had stuff that was wrong (like Theon journeying to Winterfell with the rest of the Dany crew instead of going off on his Yara quest).

You expect to show to suddenly become logically consistent?

As in I don't see any evidence any of it is real, and a bunch of evidence that it isn't.

There's a theory here proposing that the person to burn down King's Landing is going to be Bran, using a dragon. I certainly don't buy all of it and perhaps not any of it, but it's interesting and mostly well-reasoned. At the very least, the bit from the Inside the Episode about Bran's visions is interesting. I hope we're not going to get anything as schlocky as Bran warging Rhaegon and doing battle with the Night King's Viserion over the skies of King's Landing.... but who am I kidding, of course that's what we're getting.

Why not just warg into the Ice Dragon and skip a step?

speaking of warging, i wonder how thats gonna affect the books with arya and jon...

Heck is Sansa a warg?

It all seems unimportant in the big picture but he wrote it in so it has to come into effect on multiple points in the story...

I think Sansa's development has been stunted because Lady was killed.

We haven't had a warg scene with her. But, we've got them with the other five kids.

I never followed any GoT hype and finally started watching the show 2 months ago and just finished. Never read any discussion because fear of spoilers.

I'm curious how my rankings compare to others ... My rankings:

S1>S4>S3>S2>S5>S6>S7

Show clearly kind of lost it after S5... S6 was just terrible imo, outside of a few battles & scenes (Cersei destroying everyone was very cool, but my main emotion was intense relief that the horrible high sparrow-plotline was over). S7 was not terrible but I really don't like where they've taken the plot. I know the night king has always been a part of the show but it showing up at the end as "the ultimate badguy" and everyone uniting (or trying to) to battle him is turning it into a completely different show imo. It's like suddenly Game of Thrones turned in Harry Potter (I love both, I just mean that in HP the ultimate badguy was the focus since the beginning & it was clear where the plot was heading).

I think what also killed this show is that they always want to have a ton of characters, and they really failed in replacing the magic of everyone they killed off. This started becoming really apparant in S5 & on for me.

Finally, there's only a few kills where I thought "the show killed off this character too soon", but the worst one has to be Lord Baelish . I understand that once that Bran is back in Winterfell they have to kill him off, but I was hoping he'd realize he was in danger and escape.

Have you read the books? S1-S4 followed books fairly closely so if you enjoyed them, you'd likely enjoy the books too. There are some minor changes TV show made, mainly for the worse, so you might enjoy the books even more
