Fargo - Season 3 Fargo - Season 3

I thought it was unfair to judge it after 2 episodes, and felt somewhat vindicated by a very good ep 3. But at this point you have to admit it would be one heck of a comeback for this season to turn out any better than mediocre. There's nothing particularly bad about it, it's just missing that indefinable whatever that made the previous 2 seasons and the movie so good.

As compared to S2 and S1, S3 is both falling short and wearing thin. Still solidly better than average TV, but no longer something I literally can't wait to fire up on TiVo ASAP.

i think this season is excellent if subdued, and it's also truer to the Coen vibe than the previous two seasons

The Mob characters lack the badassery of S1 and S2 thusfar imo.

Somewhat concerned about the next toilet/sanitary plot development: used tampon/cop not having a tampon/dropping the kids off at the pool/stussy toilet/pissing in the mug....

Mediocre relative to TV generally or relative to the previous 2 seasons?

Well a lot of TV sucks so this is probably better than average but a big big drop-off from S1 and S2.

This season seems to be playing more for laughs. Obviously all 3 seasons had a lot of humor and surreal characters, but this season just feels like pure silliness.

The only character I find compelling is Varga, so I was rooting for anyone else to get got to propel this thing forward. So it's good that Ray is dead, but the way he went out was way too farfetched and slapsticky was it not? They did the same bit in Family Guy years ago when Stewie was doing gymnastics in the living room, hit his head into glass, and then after a few beats it's revealed he's got a shard of glass stuck into his dome. If Fargo is now filming Family Guy routines, I want to see the ipecac bit before that one. A Varga-copter could be pretty sweet too. So much material to draw from!

It actually looked a lot like the ending to The Grifters, and how John Cusack dies.

I think his death is to juxtapose nikki's beating last ep, where everyone thought she was dead after such a huge beating.

Man I don't even...this season has been so weak compared to 1 and 2. Varga is interesting when he's on screen but everyone else can just **** off

To be fair it is going to be really hard to ever top the first two seasons. Billy Bob? GOAT. Bokeem Woodbine? Fabulous role.

I finally got caught up with the show, it's definitely a notch below S1 and S2 but this season is just steady and good. Better than 90% of shows on TV just not as amazing as the other seasons. Still has the humor though.

yeah it's very similar. almost such a copy it's surprising they wouldn't be more unique.

I assume ur trolling?

cusack was intentionally rammed in the stomach with a pool cue and died of internal bleeding, Ray was accidentally stabbed in the neck with a broken shard of glass.

pretty sure the producers of the grifters aren't gonna sue for infringement or make accusations of plagiarism, and it's highly unlikely more than 5 ppl in the world thought of the grifters after that scene.

Roy (Cusack) died when Lily hit him with the briefcase of money and the water glass he was drinking from shattered and stabbed him in the neck. She meant to hit him but not have the glass kill him.

The baseball bat (pool cue) is same movie and he would have died from internal bleeding if Lily hadn't called for the mob doctor but thats not the super similar scene.

1) You're wrong.
2) No one's saying they ripped anything off, only that it was similar.
