I'm slow to the table on this one, just binged it over the last few days.

Was good, really enjoyed it. Pretty sure the Coen brothers can't do anything that I wouldn't like.

Not as good as first two seasons but there is no shame in that.

Thought the last few episodes had some horrible weak spots. So the three henchmen set up an elaborate plan to murder multiple people on a prison bus (that will have at least a couple armed guards) out in the middle of nowhere and.....nobody has a gun. They have a home made bus ramp, an ox-acetylene torch, but no gun (despite having been seen carrying guns multiple times already in the show). JFC, you have got to be ****ing kidding me.

Just gonna tip this bus over then stab a bunch of people, yep, makes sense. In the next episode we even see the troopers/marshal reference the bystander couple getting finished off execution style (i.e. shot in the back of the head). So....the goons had guns and just decided not to use them during the whole bus assault or chasing them through the woods? Ok.

Chief ignoring the syringe a similarly jarring moment of completely unbelievable stupidity.

the show lives in a very surreal alternate universe, so realism nitpicks don't make any sense

'Fargo' Renewed For Season 4

FX confirmed today that Fargo will be returning for a fourth season. And while fans of the critically-acclaimed drama will surely be happy with the news of its return, they may not be too happy with the wait involved until it comes back.

The cable network has given a fall 2019 time frame for when production will likely begin, which means a 2020 premiere is probable. Season 3 aired last spring, so that will be at least three years in between seasons.

Some new information on Season 4 has been unveiled, the biggest of which is that Chris Rock has been cast in a lead role as the head of a crime family. The setting will be Kansas City, Missouri in the year 1950, as two families - Italians migrating from Italy and African Americans fleeing the south - collide, with each fighting for a piece of the American dream.

Considering the drop in quality for S3 and the hot mess of Legion, I'm at best cautiously optimistic.

Just rewatched S1 this week - Billy Bob was so incredible in it, especially when he played the dentist and kept saying "Aces!" to his co-worker. Just killed me.

S2 was even better... S3 was a pretty big drop in quality but hoping S4 delivers.

just watched the teaser on youtube, not worth really seeking out, its basically just an elevated still picture...but am really looking forward to this season!

also happened across an interview where hawley says this season cost 2x as much as any other season, and he said there wouldn't even be a 4th season unless he thought it could be the best one, and he thinks it is.

big expectations for this one!

Last season was disappointing so was only mildly looking forward to this one, but with Timothy Olyphant and Jason Schwartzman, I’m fully excited for S4.

does one need to see s1-s3 to watch s4?

I believe each season is a standalone story just set in the same place. There might be some crossover, I can't really remember.

No. Each season is a standalone with minor exceptions.

s2 is set like 25 years earlier than s1 and has a common character, but otherwise has no significant link to s1.

Each season (and part of the the opening montage) contains references that are recognizable if you remember the movie.

s1 and s2 are elite TV, coin flip as to which is better. s3, while not in the class of the first two is still good TV and is more in line with the feel of the movie.

Watched the 1st 2 episodes of Season 4. Meh, seems like quite a drop off. Maybe it will get better as it goes.

Can we expect some more 1337 sniping skills from Richard Harrow as he plays another prohibition era gangster (Boardwalk Empire)?

So, I assume in keeping with the theme of Fargo, at least one character from this season is also on a prior season (likely season 2 given when it took place).

While I liked season 2, I don't remember it that well.

Has this person been revealed yet in the first two episodes? If so, who is it? Please spoiler any response to these questions.

Spoiler:
I’ve only seen the first episode but there’s a nurse that seems like she could be Floyd Gerhardt (Jean Smart from season 2), but that’s just my speculation
