i know this isnt what you guys meant but I also found it extremely interesting because its definitely scifi but with protagonist(s) having a lot anti-hero qualities and plenty of character flaws and questionable morals...yet we are given a glimpse into their redeeming qualities as well(thank the Sopranos).

but on a plot level, yes I agree, its extremely murky and twisted...i'm caught up on the latest episode and I'm still not sure who is actually trustworthy yet besides the ghey-looking emo dude(you're scared of me!). I love the constant snaking around and political nut-twisting back on earth with the Persian-lady(who strangely enough, has a derpy 8 year old Indian kid despite the fact she's clearly 60+ years old). At times it does feel a bit contrived and overly-schemey, particularly the plot with the detective/cop which I found to be a little insulting to the intelligence with his ability to stumble around sherlock-holmes style while he unravels every strand of a complex story.

The 8-year-old is her grandson, I think it was mentioned in ep 1 or 2

Even if the actress is Iranian her character is clearly Indian.

This last episode pissed me off. The entire episode was just filler in order to knock out an episode. Episode ends exactly where it started, why was all this stuff added? Really hurt the pace of the show.

Also the pilot's voice makes me angry too for some reason, that didn't help.

Thought episode 8 was excellent!

lol. Watched the first four, giving it a chance based on this thread. What a steaming pile of bad acting and stale, corny writing. The new Babylon 5.

Agreed, ep 8 was good. After a few slow episodes this saves things a bit.

there are definitely a few bad actors(namely the detective and the ex-Martian pilot), but IMO it has not detracted from the show very much because the overall cast is very solid and has noticeable chemistry(something that is extremely overlooked when evaluating new shows...).

but I think you are being a little harsh....especially if you watch closely and check out the extra videos that have been released. Clearly the show is being very heavily edited/watered down.

if you want BAD sci-fi with bad acting, go watch that new show "Colony" or whatever its called...thats a great example of bad, corny writing

Episode 9 was two hours. Two episodes edited into one - Critical Mass/Leviathan Wakes. They are done for now.
